“Warm You Up?”
After interrupting one of Chizuru’s ecchi attempts on a cold morning, Yukihana, a servant of Chizuru’s mother, heads to her school to assess the situation between her and this human she’s heard about. After Chizuru declares that her bond with Kouta is deeper than anyone else’s, Yukihana decides to test that out. Meanwhile in class, Tayura hears about a ninja girl in fishnet stockings from Kouta and correctly suspects that it’s Yukihana. Soon after, the school is covered in a snow storm as part of Yukihana’s trial, so Yatsuka-sensei tries to rally the youkai in the school to do something about it. Unfortunately, Mio isn’t able to produce any oil to use (for burning I assume) and Ryuusei has gone into hibernation like the bear he is.
By now, most of the students have resorted to huddling around a furnace to stay warm and even got some tips from the Nanao twins on how to rough it out like homeless people (including eating food from the trash). Chizuru, Nozomu, Tayura, and Kouta on the other hand, continue to search for Yukihana to put an end to this, but soon have a run in with a bunch of psychotic-looking snowmen. After losing Tayura to the angry mob, Kouta finds himself freezing to death, so Chizuru and Nozomu decide to warm him up with their naked bodies.
Shortly after, Yukihana comes by to interrupt all the sexual massaging and questions Chizuru what she’s doing instead of helping all the other students. When Chizuru says she just plain forgot, Yukihana blames Kouta for using Chizuru’s body however he pleases, so she sends a snow attack towards him. Nozomu stands in the way, taking the brunt of the attack, and tells Kouta to run for it. As the two of them do just that, they find themselves outside and Kouta soon collapses. With Yukihana looking on, Chizuru asks Kouta to borrow his strength and kisses him to combine. (合体だ！ Gattai da!)
After Chizuru displays her powers with Kouta, Yukihana realizes exactly how deep their feelings for one another are. Chizuru then summons a huge ball of energy to attack, but before she does, Yukihana says that she understands and that her role is over. After releasing the snow storm, Yukihana explains how she was sent here to test their bond. In addition, she says she’s supposed to convey an order to Chizuru should they pass the test—bring Kouta-dono back home. Yukihana then takes off as Chizuru ponders the predicament she’s in, during which, Akane and the others look outside and see Kouta with a completely naked Chizuru.

Impressions:
Hmm, having heart-shaped stickers over Chizuru’s nipples doesn’t really censor much in my opinion. I guess I could also say it doesn’t leave much for the imagination, but it’s not like Kanokon has ever tried to do that to begin with. I mean, it’s all out there in the open for you to see. No imagination is necessary here. For example, Chizuru made it pretty clear that she’s doing things to Kouta underneath his underwear here. Also, depsite how much they argue over Kouta, Chizuru and Nozumu sure band together when they talk dirty to him or use their naked bodies to warm him up. I guess female perverts throw their bickering aside in “times of need”.
For an initial impression, I found Yukihana to be a pretty normal girl in comparison to everyone else. Because of this, she provides a nice contrast to all the weirdos in this series, Akane and the others included. Her voice on the other hand, was deeper than I expected and is akin to Hayamizu Risa‘s portrayal of Ahmey in The Tower of Druaga ~the Aegis of URUK~. It’s not bad by any means though; it simply makes her sound a lot older than she looks. Hopefully, we’ll see more of her in the near future.
As a whole, this episode was actually pretty good if you were looking for something outside of the usual ecchi comedy. While the ecchi-ness never seems to decline, there was actually a fair amount of comedy outside of that from Akane and the Nanao twins. Last time we found out about the twins’ strange palate when they ate Chizuru’s concoction, but this time, it was funny (…disturbing?) to find out they eat food people throw out and use it in a classy looking nabe. I also found it pretty funny how they used newspapers to keep warm and took shelter inside a cardboard box, which just reaffirms their ability to live on the streets.
More importantly though, the main story between Kouta and Chizuru seems to have progressed along, now that her mother has ordered her to bring Kouta home and introduce him. In the next episode, it seems like Chizuru’s going to take Kouta to an onsen, a.k.a. hot spring, which they talked about this episode. So with that, I guess it’s time for the obligatory, “Onsen episode, KITAAA!!!” (Hot spring episode has arrived!!!).

BTW i hate erotic shows that don’t show nipples, so I didn’t follow this anime, only watched episode 2 and don’t have any intention to watch the rest of the episodes, I’ll follow this anime only if nipples are included.

Censors are being weird over there lately. In the Code Geass DVD’s Kallen’s nipples are not colored in during her initial shower scene. In her original shower scene on the Television broadcast they were colored in as seen on the blog on this site.
Sometimes DVD’s do things backwards. I kind of thought that the point of buying the product was to see the censored stuff. *shrug*

Is there even a need for the “onsen” episode next? Does not it seem ironic that Kanokon be the one series I can think of where there isn’t much *more* to look forward to in the onsen episode than the norm. In my mind, bath fog just doesn’t compare to bare bottoms and nipple stickers.
