「結城亭血風録」 (Yuukitei Keppuuroku)
“Bloodshed Record of the Yuuki Inn”

Episode at a Glance:
Tempted at the prospect of running Earth’s only (and potentially universe’s best) alien hotel by Mikado-sensei and Kimio, Galaxy Network’s editor, Yuuki decides to give it a try using the old school building. Mikado in particular is quite fond of the nearby location, as it would give aliens an alternative to staying at her medical clinic, which Yami overhears and runs off out of embarrassment. After Mikado convinces the school principal to keep the old building off-limits, Lala calls Zastin, Buwartz, and Mauru in for an emergency meeting and gets them to help renovate it into Yuuki Inn. With some intergalactic promotion from Kimio, Rito is able to draw in a few customers that he tries his best to cater to, with Yami being his first guest. However, the work ends up being more than him and Lala can undertake, so he enlists the help of Oshizu, Yami, and Mikan.

When business seems to quiet down, a small alien comes by and asks for a room for him and his comrades that’s away from other guests because of the supposed noise they’ll cause. Unbeknownst to Rito and Lala, these groups of aliens are plotting an attack against Deviluke, which Rito keeps interrupting with his room service. After being sent away, Rito consults Lala about this, who suggests bringing them some refreshments. Thinking that humans are narrow-minded, the group of aliens leave their space map out when Rito and Lala arrive, but the princess of Deviluke recognizes her home planet and reveals who she is, causing a fight to break out. Detecting this, Zastin and his men come by to help as does Yami, which ends up in the destruction of the hotel when one of Lala’s inventions explodes. With all the injuries from the incident, Mikado then finds her medical clinic with even more aliens than before.

Impressions:
While I realize that practically everything in this series is anime original content now, it doesn’t bother me nearly as much as people who have read the manga; however, I have to say the anime leaves a lot to be desired when they completely neglect Haruna for an episode. The whole love triangle between Lala, Rito, and Haruna has really taken a backseat to all the iffy comedy lately, rather than being a part of it. In lieu of that, we did get to see Yami in a maid outfit, ravaged by a bunch of midget aliens, Oshizu floating around as usual, and most importantly, Mikan! It’s been a while since she’s shown up, so it completely slipped my mind that Hanazawa Kana is even in this show. However, her role was small because Shikura and his men stole most of the screentime, so it looks the producers are even denying me appearances of characters I like, let alone story developments I’d like to see. Since we’re nearing the end of the series right now, I have to admit that I’ve stopped expecting much of anything from this series for some time now, and am simply following it through to see where it goes now. We’re probably in store for a few more random episodes, but next week is the culture festival with an animal cosplay cafe, so they may touch upon the relationship aspect of the series. There’s still the issue with Lala’s father too, which this episode touched upon, but is still yet unresolved.

  1. What can u expect, we all should realize by now manga turn anime adaption usually is crap 90% of the time, only exception was Claymore, even then it was up to like around episode 20 then turn into crap when episode 21+ come with its anime original stuff.

  2. ya, and im pretty sure they probably thought about making to love tu in to a ongoing or seasonal anime considering the numerous chapters it has, but they probably guessed people would get tired of it after awhile… judging from the not so many romance comedy ongoing/seasonal anime…
