「お稲荷さま。治療する」 (Oinari-sama. Chiryou Suru)
“Oinari-sama. Gives Medical Treatment”

Episode at a Glance:
During one of his nightly rounds at school, Ogami comes across a golden werewolf and feints from its howl. Incidentally, rumours start to spread at Tooru’s school about a grey-colored werewolf soon after. At Noboru’s school, he gets invited Momiji’s Christmas party where she plans to have a mini concert, which Misaki catches sight of and becomes depressed. Kuugen comes by shortly after and suspects that it’s about Noboru, so she gives Misaki a charm potion that she and Noboru have to both drink from to have effect. Noboru on the other hand overhears that a red fox was discovered in the hallways in the morning, prompting him to see Ogami. During badminton pratice, Noboru is troubled by the werewolf he learned from Ogami, after which Misaki gets him to drink the other half of the potion. While going over the monthly expenses that night, Noboru brings up the werewolf, but Kuugen reassures him and Tooru that there’s nothing to worry about. Elsewhere, Bekira injects a werewolf with a vaccine, reverting it back to her human form, and comments on how this one is a fake as well. The next day, Momiji gives Noboru a Christmas party ticket and they learn that one another’s mother passed away, making Momiji feel that their circumstances are similar.

On the following day over some crêpes, Mubyou tells Kuugen, Kou, and Tooru about a dangerous grey werewolf wandering around recently, which the youkai in her area haven’t heard of. Kuugen however seems disinterested and leaves to pick up a package from Bekira instead, who confirms that the others don’t know about her actions. At school, Noboru gets lured to the science room by his friend Midori, who changes into a werewolf and tries to infect him. Under the influence of Kuugen’s supposed charm potion, Misaki senses that Noboru’s in danger and rushes to save him. She then escapes and carries him off to Kuugen before collapsing, after which Kuugen stops Midori with a vaccine. Afterward, Kuugen explains the situation to Noboru, including how Midori was bitten and infected, allowing the source of infection to bestow some of its powers into him and manipulate him. Noboru then carries Misaki home and Kuugen swears that she’ll make whoever it is that laid a hand on Noboru regret it, unbeknownst that Momiji is commenting on how plan B has failed, how she’s moving on to plan C, and how she will definitely obtain it.

Impressions:
First off, being sick sucks. I don’t get sick often, but when I do, it always seems to last a few days, so I’ve spent most of my weekend in bed sleeping. I might even have to call in sick for work tomorrow… again.

Anyway, it looks like we did get werewolves this week, but the most peculiar part is that Momiji seems to be behind it all. While it’s still unclear whether or not she’s driven by some outside youkai influence, it’s a bit of a shame that she might turn out to be an enemy seeing how much the Misaki x Noboru x Momiji love triangle progressed this time around. However, we should find out soon enough since next week is Momiji’s Christmas party, which Noboru seems to be eagerly looking forward to already.

Other than that, I was surprised to see Bekira again after after the Shiro arc concluded, but it looks like she’s working with Kuugen this time around. With Bekira’s vaccine’s concealed in her “absolute territory” (a.k.a. zettai ryoiki), Kuugen’s starting to look like a pretty hot and dangerous OL (office lady) to be reckoned with. The same could be said about Misaki under the influence of Kuugen’s hypnosis medication, kicking some werewolf butt.

With that said, I like the direction they’re going for this supposed final arc, since it’s bringing in all the characters I’d like to see. Even my oh-so-favorite Mubyou made an appearance as well. Now we just need to find out what the deal is behind Momiji.

  1. @ Silver

Well there is the animal form you see when she is at home waiting for food ^^; and in the first episode or when pissed you see a human with a mix of animal face Kuugen though it’s rare. ^^; was it too much to ask for a wolf Momiji as a counter part of fox Kuugen? damn >__<
