If there’s one thing I’ve taken away from the latest episode of kiss x sis, it’s how desensitized I’ve become to seeing breasts in anime and how extremely wet kisses where the girl gets aroused are the real fan-service nowadays. Cleavage, underboob, and even fully exposed nipples don’t have anything on TONGUES! Whether they’ll licking away at a chocolate lipstick treat or drooling all over a huge choco-banana, this episode convinced me that breasts have nothing on them — not in anime anyway. I’ll just overlook why Kiryuu Mikazuki (Ookame Asuka) happened to have one shaped impeccably like a huge penis, but even if it wasn’t, the almighty shimapan pulled down below the knees doesn’t even stand a chance.
The reason being, all those little moans and whimpers coming out of Riko serve as the real fan-service, which no briefly exposed breast or underwear will ever be able to provide. Getting to hear her inner thoughts about how good everything feels and how she’s getting wet made it even better, with Riko even having to pull away at one point to catch a breather. To top it off, they were so close to turning it into a full-out love scene too. Pretty good fan-service if you ask me, especially when the two main regions associated with sex played no part here — not even in the over-the-clothes groping sense. Oh right, this episode was about something too. >_>
After the Ako-centric episode last week, it doesn’t come off too surprising that Riko would get her turn next. I thought it was actually kind of sweet of her to try and prepare some late-night snacks for Keita when he’s studying, given how she’s notoriously bad at cooking yet didn’t want to lose to Ako in that sense. It’s kind of amazing how she can make food that comes straight from hell, even when it comes to melting chocolate where she doesn’t have to add anything to it, so maybe it’s a talent of sorts. At least, that’s what I’d tell her to try and cheer her up. When I saw her whip out the chocolate lipstick though, it was an “oh snap” moment since I saw where that was going, with Riko offsetting her lack of skills in the kitchen with those in the bedroom. Granted, things didn’t quite get that far but you know, it’s the thought that counts. :)
This was unquestionably a fan-service filled affair for practically the entire episode (much like most kiss x sis ones), but one of the reasons why I’m okay with it is the series’ unique way of going about it. Yes it’s kind of perverted, but it’s almost innocent at the same time. I wouldn’t condone this if it were happening in real life, but in an anime, it sure is entertaining without being straight up hentai. Call it a creative form of expression if you will.

Having read the manga, I’m surprised how far they’re going with this. How they’re going to get away with the rest of the content (Miharu’s infamous piggyback ride, Teacher and sweatpants, Riko and cellphone)…if it needs to be censored they might as well pull a nice boat with only the audio on o.o

they arent really following the manga are they…they have just introduced some of the more important characters ahead of time too.
btw, off-topic, Divine are you covering Katanagatari? i just saw the last episode which i will say was awesome. totally deserves a face-palm at the very end.

I’ve read the manga and in my opinion the scene with Riko and the chocolate lipstick was the best one (followed by two other Riko scenes). I don’t know why but I like her shy/perverted ways. Well… I’ll watch the episode now. XP

Those two sisters are really perverted. I think Keita it’s the most envy boy in the world hehe. I read the manga too…more to come, this is nothing for now. I think Keita in the end will choose Ako because the oldest is more qualified to be a wife (IMHO). Sure there is a lot of ecchi…recently the japanese are really into it (for example “B Gata H Kei” too).

After seeing slides for this episode I’m alittle disappointed that they skipped a few manga chapters. Well i hope they introduce the important characters as well as fan service. Im glad there getting ahead of the manga as long as they get the other characters developed

Anyway, wow this series is craaaazy. I read the manga around a year ago and read it to the most recent English scanlation but wow, it sure was rather hard reading it at times due to the uhhh…. borderline hentai nature of it.
Yes. Definitely from the blogging standpoint, divine has a lot on his plate. I wish there were more writers to alleviate that a bit but I’m sure divine is enjoying what’s he’s doing right now considering his comments a while ago. Sadly I’m not that great of a writer (the problem with me is that I’m quite dull) so it won’t help at all.

I too must have been desensitized by so many in-your-face breast exposures in animes like Qwaser and Queen’s Blade that I didn’t find it disappointing at all that Riko didn’t proceed to pull up her top to reveal them.
(For the record, yes, I watch Seikon no Qwaser just to hear A-list seiyuus like Kawasumi Ayako, Hikasa Yoko and Chihara Minori, and even Hanazawa Kana moan in ecstasy as they have their boobs, or rather, their characters’ boobs, sucked again and again. ROFL )
