Let’s paint Lucy!
The third station for this filler train is invisible Lucy, and was this episode a good one? – Yes it was. It wasn’t what I had expected. When I saw the preview last week, I assumed this to be more emotional. I thought we’d be able to see the importance of Lucy in this guild, but somehow, this turned into a comedic episode where everyone is making fun of her. Not that I mind, because painting Lucy was a brilliant idea!
Personally, my favorite “Lucy” is the afro version, but nothing beats the original. An invisible Lucy is fine too, especially if she’s running around town – naked. But invisibility does not erase one’s scent, so Natsu found Lucy quite easily – and probably grabbed her somewhere he shouldn’t have (what’s with all the groping this week?).
Unfortunately, the potion Lucy bathed in – that caused this problem – was seven years old, so its effects had changed. Instead of being invisible, her whole presence slowly faded away. But luckily, one person’s memory was stronger than the rest – Natsu saves the day again! However, he and the rest of the guild, excluding Lucy, became invisible instead.
While I do think that the conclusion of this episode was a bit sudden and fast, it wasn’t disappointing. However, I wanted Lucy to get a little bit more love than this. Lucy is a great character but unfortunately, she never gets any good moment to shine in this story. Her “cool” moments are very few. But as I said in the first paragraph, I don’t mind that it turned out this way.
With that being said, I can finally say that the real original story arc is coming up, as seen on the preview. As far as I know, the original story arc will have Lucy and her father’s relationship (and the new girl) in focus – something I’m looking forward to. So what are we waiting for? Let’s get on the train again!

Well, this filler was better than the last one that’s for sure!

Natsu x Lucy seems to be building steam! Erza’s hypocrisy regarding sneaking into Lucy’s house was really funny. I’ve always wondered why Lucy never figured out that Mirajane lends out the spare key Lucy left with her.
I really thought black haired Lucy was cute.

So this arc is sn anthology of one-shot episode stories, not an over-arching chapter? That’s the sense I get. I wonder how long they can continue doing this without sacrifices quality.
I like Reedes’ new look. His fat version looked too weird to me.

No, I don’t think so. FAIRY TAIL usually has short one-shots between long arcs so this is natural for the show. I think that the main long story arc will start next week.

Well, it was entertaining ^^
I personally don’t feel like the upcoming filler arc that everyone already refers to as a “long” arc will be just THAT long, I give it 3 months at most, what do you guys think?

I think that depends on the manga, but 3 months should be enough. I might have been misleading with the word “long”. I wrote long because it’s longer than the Daphne arc (I think), and will probably go on for a while.

I can’t say that Lucy is my favorite but definitely she’s nice every now and then. I also found the ending about too sudden, though it was a good Natsu and Lucy moment. I still think stories of filler episodes suck but characters of Fairy Tail are good to make up for that. Looking forward to the next arc!
