「友の声が聴こえる」 (Tomo no Koe ga Kikoeru)
“I can Hear the Voices of My Friends”

As this arc is heading towards its end, the battles are getting more and more intense. If Dragon Slayer can be heard during a battle, you know that it’s serious business!

Finally, the Legion Corps are on FAIRY TAIL’s side. I’ve been waiting for this moment so long, but still, it makes me a bit sad that Byro changed side because of orders. He didn’t follow his heart. But what can be done now that the ending is one episode away? With “ending”, I mean this arc’s ending, not the fillers themselves. I know that this anime will start following the manga with canon episodes soon, but there will probably be some transitional ones first. Nonetheless, next week’s episode is the season finale and if I’m not wrong, it’s also the arc ending.

Oración Seis are losing their members one by one while FAIRY TAIL keeps getting more now that Romeo is on the battlefield as well. I find it amazing how this show can make its side characters shine so much. Most shounen titles (not all of them) don’t allow their side characters to develop or receive any kind of love but FAIRY TAIL is different and I love that. A combination between Romeo and Natsu is one of the best ones we’ve had in terms of powers. Romeo himself as an offensive character isn’t so strong but when he is the enhancer, he performs well. I still think Natsu’s best combination was when he swallowed some of Laxus’ powers during the S-class arc, but it’s always interesting to see new possibilities when there are so many different types of magic in this series.

As everything seems to be very serious business at this point, some battles are very rushed, like Erza against Cobra for an example. I was really excited to see Cobra use his Dragon Slayer magic but him being distracted by Kinana’s presence made the battle slightly anti-climatic, however, Erza using her Sea Empress armor made up for that. I don’t know why she’d go with that armor as it doesn’t give her any kind of advantages in this battle. With no benefits from that armor, I can only imagine that she wore that one for the sake of fanservice, but that’s okay, I mean, I love her!

I thought Cobra would have a reunion with Kinana today but I was wrong. Hopefully, they’ll meet soon. I don’t think Cobra is a threat anymore even after meeting his snake because his mark was removed from the Infinity Clock, so he is definitely out of the game. Someone else who is in the same situation is Imitatia and I find that very sad as I’ve grown very fond of her despite knowing that she was a villain.

Imitatia to me was a fantastic villain for this arc and I think Yukana did an amazing job voicing her. I really liked how she went from being a clumsy and sweet girl to a cold villain while still loving her beloved Lucy but in a more possessive way. I was hoping that she’d be saved so she could go back to being just “Michelle”. In a way, maybe she did? She was not a doll like Lapointe – she was in fact an actual doll, one from Lucy’s childhood. Watching a young Lucy hug her doll was heartbreaking, but I guess now that Imitatia is “free”, she can be with Lucy whenever she wants. She was definitely a memorable character and I’m sad to see her go. But at least, she can finally return to her original self. This raises some questions though. If Imitatia used to be a doll, then who is Michelle? How is Michelle Lobster related to Imitatia or this doll?

We’ll simply have to wait to find out the answer. Next week we have Natsu against the only remaining villain – Brain II. I hope Natsu will teach the man a lesson for using Imitatia as he did, and then save Lucy from merging with the clock (even though everyone is saying that it’s too late).

Moete kitazou!

  1. I had a hunch that Michelle/Imitatia was also a doll after I saw Zero return to the scrap of
hair he was created from but Michelle/Imitatia created from Lucy’s doll really didn’t see
    that one.

PS.I’m the first to post this time.

  3. I just realized something: is it the first time that Natsu ever fights a girl ?

Gray did, Erza and Lucy did, as well as fighting men, but that’s the first time I see Natsu battling a woman.

    Am I wrong ?

  4. Even if Michelle/Imitatia was a villain, I couldn’t help but be moved by the last scene when she was turned back to the doll that Lucy owned in the past. She never was a straight and evil person, she was just misguided, and seeing that end tragically for her was heartwrenching.

  5. It was nice that everyone was still fighting/helping/doing their parts after their own battles and conflicts were done. I’ll miss Michelle as well, but I wondered how Natsu was going to win against her. And we’ll get to see Lucy’s dad again next week so hopefully the plot holes should be covered by then.
