Awww yeah, it’s a chapter chock full of Madara-gasm faces. and I just can’t help but smile each and every time I see one now. Because every time Madara shows his face, it’s always a perfect depiction of what it means to be insane, and it’s like: “Man, what’s he going to do next?” One moment he’s just sitting there messing around, the next he’s busy throwing meteors at people, and before you know it, he’s standing in front of you in all his half-nude glory—taking hits he can avoid just so he can feel the pain (or is it pleasure?). This man is the definition of a great shounen villain, and it’s not without irony that the underwhelming Obito arc—which should have been just as epic—ends up making this entire Madara revival arc seem even better than it otherwise would have been.

That said, if this wasn’t a shounen manga, I wouldn’t have been surprised if Madara just went ahead and wiped out the entire cast next chapter or something. Because really, he could probably just snap his finger and blow up the entire planet if he wanted to. Okay well, maybe that’s a slight stretch. But at the very least, he looks perfectly capable of taking control of all the tailed beasts in an instant, and it looks like there will be no avoiding actual deaths from within the cast this time around—or so I hope. It all seems too far fetched if this doesn’t happen—and no, I’m not just talking about only Obito croaking—especially since there’s no way in hell Madara’s going to bother with the talk-no-jutsu. Though, I suppose he’ll do plenty of talking on his own accord.

And what else can I say? This was one of those chapters where the Madara faces were essentially what we came in for, and boy did we get a lot of them. The question is though, when the next chapter will be, as it’s been said that it could come as soon as next week or as late as the week after next. So if you guys don’t see a Naruto post by Thursday of next week, then you can safely assume that the chapter ain’t coming out until the week after. Guess we’ll see.

  1. LOL…..there was a whole page dedicated to Madara laughing at his OP-ness. And to think Zetsu, the Aloe Vera would outlive the rest of the Akatsuki… And where the hell is Orochimaru…. I’m calling it now: Orochimaru will intervene in this battle in some way.

    1. Looks like it is headed this way. He will probably lose the 9 tails and will have to resort to his own power. You know how it goes, a montage of everyone saying Naruto GO! Then a massive rasengan filled with everyone’s hopes and dreams. I won’t be upset if it ends this way, though it is the most obvious.

      1. It did finish off Deva Path, Nagato’s final Path body.

But, to be fair, it (or rather Nagato) was already extremely weakened by that point due to wasting a lot of chakra on failed attempts to contain Naruto in his 6-8 tailed state, and even then, it was more like Nagato was hit with the “moment of stupidity” card as he fell for Naruto’s age old Kage Bunshin + Henge trick in order to hit him with the Rasengan.

    1. As Zephyr said, Madara could really end it all next chapter if Kishi wanted to. And then there’d probably be a sequel set a few years into the future where ninjas from the colony on Mars decide to challenge Madara and reclaim Earth.

  2. Is it just me or does it feel really good to finally see a REAL villain actually lasting and kicking the asses of the “good guys” for once? Seriously, how long has it been since there was a real villain in Naruto that didn’t have some (recent) sob backstory that carried over to their present selves and such, allowing them to be “redeemed” to some degree somehow?

The last ones I can recall being like that were Kisame, Kakuzu, and Hidan. Kisame went down a bit like a b*tch (and to Gai no less before committing suicide), Kakuzu got hit with the “moment of stupidity” clause just to let Naruto steal the entire spotlight from Team Ten with a HALF completed technique (who were otherwise being owned, even with Kakashi and Yamato’s help), and Hidan being taken down single-handedly by Shikamaru too…even ones like Orochimaru, Obito, and Kabuto were (attempted to be) given sympathetic backstories.

As I mentioned last chapter, Madara is now doing all this ownage with just ONE Rinnegan eye. Imagine what sort of hell he could pull out when/if he gets the other from Black Zetsu.

And is it just me, or does Madara’s usage with the Gedo Statue and the Biju look “suspiciously” like Kushina’s (possibly Uzumaki in general) ability with those chakra chains and such?

  3. WAR! huh, yeah, what is it good for?

Zany Madara faces for one. It is amusing how Naruto mirrored my own thoughts on the Gedo Mazo… this again? While it was neat, some bodies need to start piling up just to reduce the amount of clutter in this fight scene. Also, Madz probably shoulda gone for Minato first, he’s got a Biju and is right next to his other eye…

    1. Probably, briefly, keep Black Zetsu immobilized, then have Kakashi run him through with the Raikiri, mortally wounding him and Black Zetsu simultaneously, letting Obito die similarly to how he saw Rin die by Kakashi’s hand.

  4. 1) yes at this entire madara arc
    2) as with them pointing out the two people who have awakened the rinnegan that was pretty much the biggest hint toward “introducing the third person….
    3) orochimaru’s absense probably denotes him popping up explain to S how to awaken his rinne
    4) AND THEN the real fun starts
sidenote) lol @ naruto losing the 9 tails and then beating madara with a regular rasengan. he absorbs chakra. and he’s not losing the 9 tails anyway. im pretty sure his last last last shonen upgrade is coming via his dad actually (for real this time) giving him the rest of kurama some how some way

    Soon...
