「結果の時間」 (Kekka no Jikan)
“Outcome Time”

When it comes to settling things in the Assassination Classroom, things are best done using your fists.

Karma x Nagisa

While I highly doubt anything will happen that’ll rival the insanity and subsequent heartbreak involved with Koro-sensei’s creation, the fight between Karma and Nagisa got pretty darn close. Starting on the surface level, just watching this fight was pure bliss. From the stellar animation to the beautiful up close shots during the action scenes, I don’t think there was anything to complain about. But here’s the thing – that wasn’t even the best part! Amongst all the fighting there was this ideological war going on that had both sides fighting their heart out. From Karma and his need to take out whatever was hiding deep inside of Nagisa to Nagisa trying his damndest to prove to Karma to listen to him, there was never a moment where you weren’t on the edge of your seat.

Into Infinity and Beyond?

So, am I the only one who thought it was a little crazy to hear Koro-sensei recommend sending his students into space to capture classified data from a foreign country? Besides sounding extremely risky since the spacecraft is supposed to be a proof-of-concept, are we truly supposed to believe that Koro-sensei would recommend doing something so bonkers to his beloved students? That said, maybe he has some other things in mind since it’s been a while since he’s made a face like this and we all know what happens when he gets into his crazy otaku mode.

Looking Ahead

Boy, I’m starting to get a little nervous. With less than a handful of episodes left before the finale and no obvious way to save Koro-sensei in sight, I’m really hoping that the pace doesn’t increase too much more. Don’t get me wrong, I like where we’re at now but any more than this and it might be just a little too quick.

Besides the established Nagisa×Kayano ship, now we have the new Nagisa×Karma bromance angle.
Looking forward to more Koro-sensei craziness next week as Class 3-E literally reaches for the stars (and as a manga reader I’m sure some of you have predicted who will go up to the ISS).

      1. Nagisa×Karma felt more or less like a long-time acquaintance, though not as intimate as Nagisa×Kayano. For example, they address each other with “-kun”, which is an elevated honorific compared to “-san” but still showing some distance. By contrast, Nagisa and Kayano address each other without honorifics, which denotes either great affection or disrespect (though obviously it’s the former, and then some more). Until the civil war arc the audience had little idea what a downgrade the current Nagisa×Karma dynamic actually was compared to back in seventh-grade, and it wasn’t until after their duel that they finally resolve their issues and start addressing each other without honorifics as a gesture of reconciliation.

  2. Watched that fight like 5 times now and I still freeze up due to the tension.
When Koro-sensei explained their different approached, I understood what the both them were going for to win.

Nagisa looking for that one chance to get a proper hit and Karma just to keep beating down Nagisa’s attempt until they stopped and then go for the kill. At that moment I realised Nagisa was going for that too. Make Karma think he’s won and safe to go for the kill cuz then he’ll lower his guard.

Sure enough that happened exactly but that exchange of “blows” that happened next was just perfect. I had Koro-sensei’s smile at that point.

  3. I little disappointed that anime didn’t include a small scene where Nakamura pinching Nagisa’s cheek after the fight with Karma is over. Also, Karma x Okuda shippers are bit upset the anime left out a small Okuda scene where she want Karma to win and state her reason. I do hope Lerche doesn’t skip Valentine Day arc since it will upset with certain shippers.

    1. As a fan of small details, I have to agree. Though for me, the most dissapointing cut about this arc was the small scene of both teams adding the paint to their uniforms.

Cutting details and small, fairly insignificant (on the surface at least) scenes and/or arcs is pretty normal with anime adaptations, so I’ve gotten used to it. But it is always sad when that happens and even more so with a series like Assclass that has a huge cast of kids who each get their turn to shine, and chapters/episodes filled with fun little scenes.

Nevertheless, the anime is doing a great job at adapting the main story, so there honestly isn’t much room for complaints.
