「宇宙の時間」 (Uchuu no Jikan)
“Universe Time”

For a few seconds, I thought I was watching Robotics;Notes. That is, until I saw Nagisa and Karma attempt to hijack the ISS.

Into Space!

Boy, was I wrong when I thought Koro-sensei was being a little too adventurous when he talked about going into space last week. Besides all the various things that could go wrong (scenes from the Martian are flowing through my mind), I thought that someone in the class was going to raise some complaints about the whole thing. Amazingly, the complete opposite happened! Diving straight into it without breaking a sweat, we had a quick montage of E Class preparing for their journey into the outer orbit. Something I thought was actually pretty cool since I had no idea what they were going to do to make sure things would go smoothly.

But the best part came in the form of the payoff about nine minutes in. Something about watching the class successfully infiltrate JAXA, take over their systems, and sneak Nagisa and Karma onto an experimental spacecraft just felt so good. Plus, if you think about it, with skills like these it’s really starting to feel like they might have a chance at assassinating Koro-sensei.

On a side note, can I just say how awesome it’s been seeing so much Ritsu? Appearing at just the right times in just the right poses, I’ve been so happy to see her character get some real development. Gone are the days where she was an over engineered AI created to simply kill Koro-sensei and now we have a genuinely sweet girl who’s grown just as much as the classmates around her!

Looking Ahead

As surprised (and a little disappointed) as I was about just how simple the cure to stop Koro-sensei from blowing up was, I’m actually really happy with where things are at. Not only do we get to have our cake (Koro-sensei has the chance to live out his life without blowing up), but we get to eat it (E Class still gets to attempt their grand assassination attempt with zero hard feelings in the event that they fail)! A situation I never thought we’d realistically get to.

Anyways, I’ll catch you guys next week when we’ll get to see what the class has in store for their beloved sensei. That and I hope that Shiro (I don’t even want to look up his real name) doesn’t suddenly show up and ruin all the good feels we got going on right now. See you!

  1. I have read the manga and they made a couple of minor tweaks but nothing to change the episode more in the scene mechanics . Actually they made the episode more plausible. Especially the fence scene.

I am a big fan of the manga and to see it animated is even better as the staff and Lerche are putting outa good effort. The source material is great to begin with but the script writing and direction is keep it stock but exciting is note worthy

Oh yes Ritsu is so cool. That’s one thing about this anime the cast has their turns to shine without feeling forced or rushed.

You know they are good at misdirection with the story which will all make sense at the end.

  2. They need to make a Ritsu app for phones.

I was sad at the lack of her inclusion so much earlier in the season but seeing her moments over the last few episodes made up for it.
