“A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With Effort”
I really should watch the original series at some point. Not recognising the old characters that appeared, I can still tell they are revered in the Logicalist world. So it’s a shame I won’t be able to talk about at depth in the context of their cameo. However, I can certainly go into some detail about the Trial they posed for our young academy students.
The Trial
It was so typical of Lion to go for the odd choice of tuna, while Nina pretty much grabbed and doted over the fluffy sheep. The goal? To protect these stuffed toys, and get them to the finish line. Anyway, Yayoi received a good chunk of character development. We got to see how she looked out for her friends, covering the ninja twins with a duvet so that they wouldn’t catch a cold while sleeping. Though she couldn’t hold down Chloe in a straight up 1v1 fight (and I suspect Rust would go no better), she utilised an unorthodox method in order to successfully overcome the challenge, by working with Lion to bring their soft toys to the finish line.
Despite her boastful declarations indicating otherwise, Yayoi compromised by letting Lion take first place. The kind of appreciation and recognition she gives others for favours they have done for her really raised her estimation in my eyes. I really have to respect that willingness to work hard, while maintaining her integrity. She’s still annoying, but in a much more tolerable way I can appreciate as being enthusiastic.
Concluding Thoughts
In the backdrop of our silly fun, Nina’s lone wolf approach are causing problems as the series goes on. There’s no denying the fact Nina unquestionably superior to both Lion and Yayoi when it comes down to individual skill. However, she falls short when trying to do everything herself. If I had to guess, resolving Nina’s problems will come in at the climax of the series. The power of friendship must be allowed to overcome the odds. But I feel the series makes a good point – Nina has so much room to grow. I’m excited to see her eventually. work in conjunction with fellow Logicalists, when the time calls for it!

IMO, solving nina’s being a lone wolf issue will probably happen on some serious event later in the series, but i feel it will not be in the main climax which is probably that “lion going berserk or out of control (as hinted in the last part of this episode)” since it will need a real teamwork that is not gained immediately

Nina will get over her issues when they “save” Lion from herself. Classic cliche.
Probably. But cliches aren’t necessarily a bad thing. The medium of CGDCT doesn’t really rely on straying from conventions in order to be entertaining.
I had reasonable hope for this show at the beginning, but really after this last episode it’s firmly moved into the “just watching for the fanservice” category.

As for discussion of the episode, I always crave at least one CGDCT show a season. I really like the niche that Hina Loji fills in terms of that need.
