GOSICK – 13

「愚者は己の代弁者を指名する」 (Gusha wa Onore no Daiben-sha o Shimei Suru)
“Only a Fool Would Appoint Himself as His Own Lawyer”

It sucks that Avril’s such a charming character, because despite the fact that there doesn’t appear to be a serious reason for her to like Kujou, the power of fate will never let it happen, literally.

GOSICK – 11

「そのドリルは雄弁に愛を語る」 (Sono Doriru wa Yūben ni Ai o Kataru)
“The Drill Speaks Eloquently of Love”

When the cast is already quite charming themselves, a focus on character relationships and their histories prove to be a much better “mystery” than the actual ones so far. In this case, it’s centered around Grevil, Jacqueline, and Victorique.

GOSICK – 07

「夏至祭に神託はくだされる」 (Geshi-sai ni Shintaku wa Kudasareru)
“A Divine Revelation is Given at the Summer Solstice Festival”

In a village full of blondies with ponytails coupled with having the production of BONES, it felt weird to keep thinking I was seeing the distant cousins of the Elric family.

GOSICK – 06

「灰色の狼は同胞を呼びよせる」 (Haiiro no Ōkami wa Dōhō o Yobi Yoseru)
“The Gray Wolf Summons a Compatriot”

Almost unexpectedly, the story completely shifts focus to our golden haired heroine, and sure enough, my interest meter skyrockets. Whether it’s the sudden fragility she displays, or the endearing blushes exposing her dere, Victorique rightfully takes reign in being the center of attention. After all, who’s the goth(s)ic(k) one?
