Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 12 (END)

(Ookami-san to Macchi Uri Janai kedo Fukou na Shoujo)
“The Wolf and the Girl Who’s Not a Match Seller but Still Unfortunate”

K-ON‘s Satou Satomi joins the cast of characters as Himura Machiko and puts some pressure on Ryouko to speak up about how she truly feels about Ryoushi. Modeled after The Little Match Girl, Machiko wasn’t enough to force them together, but did draw out a fair bit of dishonest behavior from Ryouko to make this a worthwhile finale.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 11

(Ookami-san to Hitsuji no Kegawa wo Kita Ookami)
“The Wolf and the Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”

To all those viewers who felt Ryoushi was too wimpy of a male lead back in episode one, rest assured that you should be pleased with his character development here. He mans up when it matters, which means protecting Ryouko at all costs.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 10

(Ookami-san to Otogi Ginkou no Sugoku Nagai Ichinichi)
“The Wolf and Otogi Bank’s Very Long Day”

I can’t say I really understand how it works, but apparently you can offer a 30% discount on repaying favors. I’ll leave it to Alice to calculate exactly how much debt each request Otogi Bank handles is worth, because the story is finally heating up with the return of our “last boss”, Hitsujikai Shirou.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 09

(Ookami-san to Doku Ringo ga Kikanai Shirayuki Hime)
“The Wolf and Snow White whom The Poison Apple Doesn’t Work On”

It’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in the form of the Miss Otogi Gakuin champion Shirayuki Himeno (Fukui Yukari) and her seven younger siblings.

May’n – Ready Go! PV (Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi OP)

[flv:May’n_Ready_Go_PV.mp4 550 310]

This post has been sitting in my drafts for some time now, so I figured it’s about time to get it out. Not to mention, the PV for May’n’s latest single has been out for almost two months now on Victor Entertainment’s flying DOG YouTube channel, prior to the actual premiere of Ookami-san. In addition, the single itself came out on July 28th, so everyone who’s wanted to hear the full version of “Ready Go” probably has by now. What hasn’t been so readily available though is her live performance of the song on Music Japan’s anime song special back on August 1st. I say live performance, but in reality this looks like a prerecorded lip-synced one where May’n gets part of the lyrics and dance messed up at the 2:24 mark and recovers with the help of a quick camera change. Regardless, I love watching live performances of songs prerecorded or otherwise, so this Music Japan special was pretty cool to see. There were several other artists performing as well, some of which I may post performances of later on. For now, enjoy the latest from May’n if you haven’t seen it already. The PV in particular looks like it could be used for an iPod advertisement.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 08

(Ookami-san to Nezumi no Yomesagashi to Yappari Buta wa Kouiu Atsukai)
“The Wolf, The Search for the Mouse’s Bride, and How Pigs Should Be Treated”

Ask and you shall receive, as Ookami-san goes on a Toradora and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun cameo blitz in a matter of seconds. They weren’t shy about introducing them all with their proper names either, much like they had Otsuu’s Kawasumi Ayako say Mahoro’s infamous “I think perverted thoughts are bad” line.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 07

(Ookami-san Jizou-san to Daburu Deeto Suru)
“The Wolf Goes on a Double Date with Jizou”

I guess it would be pretty wrong to say that Ryouko is much more attractive when she’s 13 years-old, but that’s the message I got when she came down with an acute case of amnesia.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 06

(Ookami-san to Akazukin-chan, Tsuide ni Ryoushi-kun)
“The Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, and also Ryoushi-kun”

It’s the Tachibana Junichi approach! If confessing once doesn’t work, keep doing it until she can’t deny your love any longer! In Ryoushi’s case, this actually marks his third attempt, which looks like it made more of a dent in Ryouko’s tough exterior but still isn’t enough to bring her around.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 05

(Ookami-san Momo-chan-senpai to Oni Taiji ni Iku)
“The Wolf Goes Demon Hunting with Momo-chan-senpai”

The introduction of the public morals committee member Kibitsu Momoko (Kaida Yuuko) and her Momotaro-inspired demon hunt at Onigashima High School was only the tip of the iceberg, as the story delved into much deeper aspects this episode.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 04

(Ookami-san to Otsuu-senpai no Ongaeshi)
“The Wolf and Otsuu’s Repayment”

Ryouko’s a maid! If this were Kaichou wa Maid-sama, the title would’ve easily been, “A Maid Even as a Wolf.” Incidentally, this was only a side effect of the actual story involving Otsuu and her obsession with repaying debts, which even had the guys in French maid outfits before it was all said and done.
