When I posted my thoughts about Eva Q after seeing it raw in a Japanese theater last December, I opened with "What the heck did I just see?" After seeing the movie subtitled, I have two further thoughts on that. First, I sure as hell don’t blame myself for asking that question. And second, seeing it subbed doesn’t come remotely close to answering the question for me.

From Studio Trigger comes Little Witch Academia, a product of Anime Mirai’s Young Animator Training Project. And suffice to say, I’m stunned, because Trigger does an absolutely AMAZING job with this OVA.

“Two Worlds, Two Tomorrows”

The wide arrays of iconic mecha are broadly perceived as leading Gundam to its current success. In reality, the franchise is as much about the human side of the equation as the mecha and suffice to say, Gundam Unicorn (UC) delivered one of the most enthralling character studies in recent memories.

“BLOOD-C: The Last Dark”

Nothing like seeing Kisaragi Saya slicing and dicing through Tokyo — even if the experience is not without its fair share of flaws.

“Exorcism Maiden”

One of my favourite ghosts is back to haunt us with an extra episode of shenanigans and festivities!

「妖精たちの合宿」 (Yousei-tachi no Gasshuku)
“Fairy Camp”

This OVA takes place in the middle of episode 153. It’s one of the funniest FAIRY TAIL episodes so far, and it made many of my fangirl wishes come true.

「鴨川デイズ」 (Kamogawa Deizu)
“Kamogawa Days”

Welcome back to Kamogawa, circa the time between Season 1 and Season 2. Let’s take a little trip down memory lane…though first, I feel I should mention who should watch this.

「ストライクウィッチーズ 劇場版」 (Sutoraiku Wicchīzu Gekijouban)
“STRIKE WITCHES The Movie”

STRIKE WITCHES is surprisingly high up on my list of thoroughly enjoyable anime series which always makes it rather depressing to see how many people dismiss it with but a single glance.

“Eureka Seven AO: The Flowers of Jungfrau”

Any way you look at it the lead story in the Astral Ocean OVA is Ao in a dress, but there are actually a couple of semi-serious moments along the way.

「Reverberation; 残響」 (Zankyou)

This episode was a great standalone feature and regardless of whether it’s a “filler” or actual material from the novels, I still think it adds to the story. It’s like the aftermath for the season finale and that’s why I didn’t mind revisiting it.

「翼竜は舞い降りた」 (Yokuryuu wa Maiorita)
“The Wyvern Arrives”

I have to be honest, it was hard to be hyped for Boukoku no Akito. Yet somehow, seeing that the first OVA was finally available for viewing sparked a little something in me that only Code Geass is capable of.

Note: Just in case someone hasn’t watched the original and has managed to avoid spoilers thus far (what a ridiculous idea!), heavy spoilers after the jump.

Well, just in case anyone was about to forget about it, Guilty Crown returns with this 11-minute OVA after a season and a half after its finale.
