Acting as a prelude to what will be one hell of a finale in PSG 13, part 2 was pretty much the Act II leading to Act III of any action movie (and Act I was episodes 1 to 11).

“Once Upon a Time in Garterbelt”
I’ve never liked Garterbelt. I’m glad he never had a huge role, because I have to say, he doesn’t exactly “grace” the screens. Now we’re getting a biographical episode about Garterbelt, filled with a surprisingly epic journey, but I still don’t like him. But hey, I can’t say it wasn’t an intriguing episode.

「HELP!二人はエンジェル」 (HELP! Futari wa Enjeru)
“HELP! We are Angels”
I’m not exactly sure what went on for the first 16 minutes or why it happened, but it must have been to make this music video feel more awesome. The “theme” song that’s been occasionally played as background music for a while now is used for this MV, so people that liked it can now hear the full song.

“If the Angels Wore Swimsuits”
Okay so it’s no question the demon sisters aren’t going to be leaving the plot for at least the rest of this season, but no complaints there. After all, if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t be getting a volleyball match of celestial proportions. I suppose you can consider this your typical swimsuit episode, but in terms of PSG, that’s kind of weird isn’t it?

Angels, the living Dead, and Devils. Sounds like a great live action movie to me.

There is no amount of expletives to describe the latter 10 minutes of epic ridiculousness, so I’m not even going to attempt trying. There is no doubt that this is the best episode so far, pulling out the many tropes of television and mashing them all into what felt almost like a movie counterpart compared to previous half-sodes. The feeling I got was pretty much exactly what was felt during the final arcs of TTGL, but with much less exposition backing it up, so it felt more like an epic snack than an epic meal.

There’s a whole mess of confusion within me from watching this half. Is it the urge to be disgusted from an episode devoted to boogers? That said boogers are so abundant, and shooting everywhere, or that they look exactly like Stocking’s sweets? How about that Stocking eats said sweets, but soon eats those boogers too, but the cognitive dissonance of seeing it still as a sweet, but knowing it’s a booger just rips the mind apart?
