Sora no Otoshimono Forte – 03

Saying that looks painful would be an understatement.

(Bonnou (Puraido) Aru Tatakai)
“A Fight with Worldly Desires (Pride)”

With another festival that sees the return of Judas, I was looking forward to another a repeat of the cork gun survival game seen in episode eight of the first season. Tomoki wasn’t too fond of the idea, given how Ikaros went on an aerial “angel of death” killing spree with her Gatling gun before, so I figured I was in store for something a step up from that.

Sora no Otoshimono Forte – 02

Astraea may not be human, but if she looks this good, she can’t possibly taste that bad. Come on Tomoki. Man up!

(Kyougaku! Tenshi wa Baka (Kyonyuu) Datta!!)
“Surprise! The Angel’s a Big-Breasted Idiot!!”

Astraea arrives and makes quite the splash by face-planting herself into the ground. I knew she was pretty dumb as a Delta angeloid, but I didn’t expect her to be a complete klutz as well. No wonder Nymph and Ikaros completely cast her off as a cause for concern even after learning that she’s come to Earth to eliminate Tomoki.

Sora no Otoshimono Forte – 01

The arrival of Astraea! She’s out for Sakurai blood.

(Kimi mo Nuge! Kaettekita Zenra Out (Yuusha))
“You Strip Too! The Return of the Naked King (Hero)”

Even with the episode title, the parody opening for this premiere had more naked Tomoki than I was prepared for.

Sora no Otoshimono – OVA

(Purojekuto Tougenkyou (Pinku))
“Project Eden (Pink)”

The second season of Sora no Otoshimono is just around the corner, but a bonus OVA episode comes our way with the ninth manga volume to get us back into the hilarious ecchi-filled swing of things. “With great power comes great responsibility,” except when your name is Sakurai Tomoki and you use your angeloid to peek into girls’ changing rooms.

Sora no Otoshimono – 13 (END)

(Sora no Joou (Otoshimono))
“The Queen (Thing that Fell) from the Sky”

I hate to say I called it, but there was really no other way I would’ve wanted things to conclude here. With the arrival of the Gamma Angeloid harpies and their Prometheus weaponry, Nymph’s master decides to toy with her until the bitter end. Tricked into believing he’s worried about her, Nymph cooperates with them but asks that they let her try to convince Ikaros into returning to the Synapse.

Sora no Otoshimono – 12

(Nogaruru Koto Kanawanu Rasen Kairou (Kusari))
“The Spiraling Cloister (Chain) of No Escape”

It’s almost as if AIC ASTA’s just flaunting their capabilities now. In addition to having a new ending theme/sequence each week, they’ve gone and tweaked the opening with some extra sound effects. When a studio has time to do all that, it sure gives me the impression they have this project in the bag. The story is well on track too, with Nymph’s whole collar situation nearing its climax.

Sora no Otoshimono – 11

(Izayukan! Waga Sentou Ryouiki (Paradaisu))
“Let’s Go! My Bath House Domain (Paradise)”

If anyone still wonders why you always have an indecisive, self-restrained male lead in gender bender harem anime, Tomoki will show you the results of the other end of the spectrum. It’s extremely amusing and had me laughing like crazy at Tomoki’s inner male thoughts. Problem is, if it dragged out any longer and he wasn’t punished for it, we’d have a pretty questionable series promoting perversion.

Sora no Otoshimono – 10

(Tenshi no Senritsu (Kotoba) no Mukau Saki)
“Where the Angel’s Melody (Words) Goes”

Animal cruetly is not cool. After seeing how Nymph’s master ordered her to kill her own pet bird for sheer entertainment, I actually found it more heartless than ordering Ikaros to kill humans indiscriminately. Nymph can’t defy her master’s orders either, so she had to comply and thank him for making her do so. Damn sick sadists. Tomoki needs to kick their asses with his “Perky Nipples” song.

Sora no Otoshimono – 09

(Uso Kara Hajimaru Mousou Gekijou (Sutoorii))
“The Wild Theatrical (Story) that Starts with a Lie”

For a place that angels supposedly come from, the Synapse sure seems like a hellish place. All you have are a bunch steak-eating sadists up there who aren’t the least pleased with how Nymph has awakened the Uranus Queen. It looks like Nymph is damaged in some way now too, or at least that’s what the blinking green light on her collar seems to indicate.

Sora no Otoshimono – 08

(Chito (Matsuri) wa Da ga Tame ni)
“For Whom is the Bloodbath (Festival)”

Wow, what an episode. What starts off as an innocent festival quickly turns into a cork gun survival game with 10 million yen (~$100k USD) on the line. For that, we have to thank Mikako and the undertaker-like target practice store owner she hired. However, things take a turn for the better when Nymph releases the protection on Ikaros’ memories and unintentionally restores her abilities as well.
