Summary:
With the one-night stand over and Aka gone, Fumihiko thinks that he might have helped her just for her body. He arrives at work all fired up, but gets stopped by Tanaka-san (the woman who stood him up the night before). She apologizes, but he doesn’t seem to care and rushes off again with work on his mind. In the office, his boss gives him a job auditioning voice actresses for a snack food commercial with a cat-tree mascot. During the introductions, just as Fumihiko starts thinking about how Aka was an aspiring voice actress, Aka shows up. When she gets her turn to voice the role, Fumihiko notices how well it fits. At the end of the day, he catches his boss coming out of the decision meeting and is told that Aka was chosen after all. A happy Fumihiko goes home to find Aka waiting at his door ready to celebrate. He agrees to Aka’s request that they keep their relationship a secret, but then gets frisky after she says that she’s indebted to him again. She smacks him against the wall and tells him that last night was a one time thing only because he took her in.

The second episode of REC ended up being a lot more “tame” compared to the first. After hooking (some of) us for the first episode, they’re now setting up the rest of it. Aka and Fumihiko will be working together and Tanaka-san is someone to watch out for. And at home, she’ll be living with him indefinitely, though their relationship (for now) won’t be sexual. I admit that I’m still a bit skeptical on how good of a romance series they can make this into with only 9 half-length episodes (and only seven left). It just doesn’t seem like enough time to fully develop Aka and Fumihiko’s relationship.

  1. This series is really sticking with me. Is it because of the “sechs scene”? Is it because of cute characters? Nope. It’s because this is one of the few anime where there’s no big freaking long series before the main couple starts (somewhat) getting it on. 😀 It’s good to have an anime like this where you don’t have to go “ARGH!” “URGH!” “GET A ROOM, YOU IDIOTS!!” 😀

  3. I totally agree with you Shinji-san^^
Of course it’s often funny to see how love develops, but this here is another way to show a relationship.
After all it reminds me a little bit of my own first relationship 😉
Looking forward for next episode *-*
