Summary:

Still trying to reach the Black Order headquarters after all this time, Miranda continues to meet with misfortune when she gets her wallet stolen by a thief. Fortunately, she and her clock get taken in by a family that runs a magic show. Miranda attempts to help them by handing out flyers and cooking, but she just ends up causing more trouble. By chance, she meets up with the policewoman Moore that Allen had encountered previously, and the two get acquainted. Miranda is then convinced to help with the family’s magic show, and she gets put in a box that the father Gary proceeds to put swords through. However, Miranda becomes afraid of the blades and activates her clock and the Innocence. This causes the magic show to repeat several times until Miranda finally stops it. She gets depressed all over again about her own abilities, but the family offers her the chance to travel with them anyway.

That night, a group of Akuma looking for Innocence attack Miranda and the family. Since Miranda doesn’t have any powers that let her defeat Akuma yet, she has no choice but to lure the Akuma away from everyone else by carrying the clock into the forest. Moore follows Miranda into the forest and tries to get her to leave behind the clock, but Miranda refuses. With the Akuma closing in on them, Miranda begs her Innocence to activate and it finally does. She manages to protect Moore and herself for long enough for Lenalee to arrive and destroy all the Akuma. Afterwards, Miranda once again decides that being an Exorcist is the one thing that she can do, and she continues towards the Black Order headquarters. Lenalee finds her trying to climb up the cliff to get to the tower a little while later, so she flies Miranda and the clock up. Miranda is glad that she’s finally able to become an Exorcist, but that mood changes when she realizes that Komui has to take the Innocence out of her precious clock in order to make it a weapon.

Here I was thinking that Miranda had turned over a new leaf and had gotten over her past troubles since the last time we saw her, but this episode shows her pretty much the same as she used to be. That is to say, this episode doesn’t introduce any new developments to her character and instead rehashes the old ones. I guess I’m just getting impatient waiting to see a new Miranda, and I wish they’d do something more than these stand-alone episodes. A long arc that lasts at least four or five episodes would be better than this, even if it’s not from the manga. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case next week which the preview shows to be about Allen and a mysterious ghost ship.

  1. Yeah,…I’m starting to loose intrest in this show. I watch shows for guys and good character designs. So sence the characters are average and the only hot guy so far is Tyki. (God, knows where the hell he is.)He had like what 2 good epi’s and thats it? Anyways I’m starting to think their dragging it out for to long.

  2. Awww poor Miranda… She looks bony, but I guess she’s strong if she can climb up that huge cliff thing to the Black Order with a grandfather clock on her back, lol. And holy crap, it’s Moa (or Moore)! I can’t wait to watch this and hear what you have to say about it.

I guess if someone’s self-esteem is so low, it is really hard to boost it up right away.

  10. This whole episode just made me very sad for Miranda… I was expecting a bit more than Miranda walking around having horrible luck for her second reappearance. 🙁 Even in the manga her luck improves…somewhat. Although I’m glad she found the Black Order…and Komui was actually acting normally when he met her. ^^; Minus the whole “I’m gonna use my saw to cut your precious clock” scene. The fillers are getting close to ruining the show for me as well…sorry to say 🙁 I’m just going to read the manga until the show finally catches up.
