「くいーんの挑戦状」 (Kuiin no Chousenjou)
“Queen’s Written Challenge”

Episode at a Glance:
Upon arriving in her limousine, the school queen Tenjouin Saki takes notice to Lala, who has become more popular than her amongst the guys. Because of this, Saki gets her followers, Fujisaka Aya (glasses) and Kujou Rin, to issue a written challenge to Lala. This results in a Ms. Sainan (彩南) beauty contest, much to the perverted school principal’s delight. Not understanding the situation, Lala never shows up, so Saki decides to use Rito as bait. Lala eventually show up for another reason, but Saki gets her bikini torn to shreds by Bow Bow Doggy-kun, so she runs off.

Later on, Saki catches word that Lala has some big secret, so she and her goons go spy on Rito’s house. Unfortunately for them though, they only succeed in triggering a bunch of Zastin’s traps. When Saki finally gets into the house, she accidently hits a switch that jettisons off a section of the house with Lala and her inside. (Apparently it’s an escape pod Zastin built into the house.) With the two of them sent flying off towards space, Zastin and his men take off in pursuit, only to be inadvertently shot down by Lala. During all the explosions, Saki falls out the balcony window, so Lala dives out after her and manages to save her. Saki however faints from the ordeal.

Shortly after, Saki wakes up to find herself naked in a crowd of people because Lala dropped her somewhere with Bow Bow Doggy-kun.

Next Episode:
「宇宙人の刺客」 (Uchuujin no Shikyaku)
“Alien Assassin”

Ah Bow Bow Doggy-kun, where would we be without you and your clothes-eating ways?

As it turns out, the queen-like Tenjouin Saki didn’t come off as annoying at all. Given Kawasumi Ayako‘s portrayal of Chizuru in Kanokon, I subconsciously thought Saki would be similar, but it turns out she’s not ecchi at all. Instead, she was quite the victim this episode, losing all her clothes on at least two occasions, failing into a “69” position with Rito, and being groped by some tentacle monster trap set up by Zastin. (To LOVE-Ru, again with the tentacles!)

Haruna and Mikan were almost non-existent this week, but there was some Mikan fan-service for those who um… like *cough* illegally younger girls. Also, if you ever wondered what “To LOVE-Ru” would stand for in the Gundam SEED Cosmic Era universe, it’s “Technology of Over Level Operation for Very heavy command to Electronic control unit Ru …ru!? ru ru run!!” according to Zastin’s control console.

Next episode we see some alien assassin that looks like it’s some freakish cross between a Bio Booster Armor Guyver zoanoid and a Dragon Ball Z Namekian. Also, it looks like poor Haruna falls victim to this alien’s perverted ways. HARUNA-CHAN!!!

Note: For anyone who’s interested (or just wants to look at screenshots), I actually went back to cover episode 2 for completeness sake. I already had a write-up finished as a sample post, so all that was really needed was to take some screenshots. The impressions written there are prior to watching episode 3.

  1. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I really wish screenshots on the front page for this series could be left out. They give you the same feeling like seeing hentai banners or popups.

And I seriously don’t know what they’re thinking for this series.
Promoting hentai? If they were, they could’ve just made it hentai in the first place and coz hentai never needed promotion. Now, it’s just annoying people who’d rather stay away by lowering the ratings so everyone can watch it but basically it’s the same sukebe thing.

*annoyed, goes back to wait for Macross summaries*

  2. about time haruna get molested next episode. it would be better if they just followed the manga than make up some episode like episode 4 to make it more fanservice. anime would’ve been better if they put a little filler on each episode and just follow the manga
