So not only was Haruhi once again looped on Endless Eight, it even had a loop inside the episode. The shot you see above with Haruhi getting up to leave was repeated four times as Kyon tried to figure out what to do to stop her. The very end of the episode then wasted another 30 seconds on a ticking clock (with the camera turning with the second hand) which stopped right before midnight. Next week could be the final Endless Eight episode though, so maybe this’ll finally be over.

I did laugh though at this comment I saw on AnimeSuki’s forums: “It takes less time for Goku to summon a spirit bomb than it takes for this arc to end. ” 😀

  1. I’m losing hope but I still watch it anyway. My guess is that at the earliest the 8th loop will be the last but the loop will probably last until the end of August. That leaves a 6 episode arc to finish things up If I were to believe that Haruhi 2009 is made up of 28 episodes.

Now that’s an understatement. It takes Namek less time to explode than it takes for this arc to end.

  3. Bring It On Endless Eight, I still have faith in Haruhi, I can’t believe so many hardcore fans are giving up because of a minor set back, well I remember the Haruhi that made me laugh and made me want to go along for the ride with it’s characters, and that is what is going to keep me going through this series, because I know the wait will be worth it, despite all the unnecessary hype, Haruhi is in fact a GOOD series and I will see it to the end!

Dude, it stopped being minor two repeats ago.

Me too. Sadly, she was sacrificed on the altar of KyoAni’s trolling.

  5. This episode was the best so far, IMO. It felt a whole lot faster, and we got Itsuki wearing speedos, Kyon crossing his legs very elegantly, and some clock ticking pr0n at the end. Plus, Haruhi literally going round round was great.

  6. I find this interesting and annoying at the same time. It was cool at first but it should of ended at the 3rd~4th episode. A large part of me is laughing, another part of me is like “yeah, i get it already!!”, and the rest of me is wondering how many times Yuki has went on a killing spree, jumped off a building knowing time will just reset, or punched Kyon in the face for not stopping Haruhi. But here is #5 going on #6. While I am still laughing that they are doing this, I am ready for this joke to be over………

eh… what the heck give me one more laugh.

  7. When they release it on DVD, if it’s as so often 2 episodes per DVD, who the hell is gonna buy 3 or 4 DVDs with the same stuff? I don’t know to what extent they depend on DVD sales, but they’re blowing it

I don’t what HK version you are buying from, but normally you can expect 3-4 episodes per DVD.

Well, let’s be serious here. It’s fine calling it trolling among the fandom, but from a corporative POV they intention must be another altogether. Now, apply some anime knowledge, turn the chessboard and think it over :p

  9. I feel like making Haruhi vanish too after six rounds of this BS. Yuki have to get back at her some kind of way for making her go through the same 14 MFing days over 15,000 times.

  10. Well another repitition… I wonder why I wait a weak to see almost exactly the same episode again. At least this helps me to improve my japanese a little since I’m too lazy to watch the same episode over and over again ^^

  11. It’s like the movie “Groundhog’s Day” only instead of Bill Murray we have Kyon. I was hoping they would have made an episode where they each off themselves in increasingly hilarious ways, only to wake up and repeat the cycle over again.

Also, i think Goku’s Spirit bomb attack charge up and endless eight actually take up the same amount of episodes which is six.

    ironic isn’t it?

  12. For a 14 episodes season like this (theoretically it was announced to be that long if you take 28 and subtract 14 from the old series) you’re probably looking more at 7 DVD’s with 2 episodes on each OR they could do 8 DVD’s and have 1 episode on the first disc with a collector’s box incentive (magic words Limited Edition for extra consumer frenzy), and 2 on the rest with a bonus DVD exclusive for the last DVD which would be an episode 15.

Keep in mind that they converted it into 7 DVD’s in Japan for the first season as well.

  13. KYOANI can kill themselves at this point for all I care .

With all the good un-animated arcs & after 3 years wait we get this???????????????

Endless eight is a very bad joke that they’ve been repeating for 6 straight weeks. Forget they’ll animate the vanishing at all.

The only thing I want from them at this point is a new Full Metal Panic series.

    screw Haruhi.

  14. FullMetalQAF’s right
    sorry for doubting you haruhi-sama
but im really hoping for this arc to end
those repeating will be fine for me IF… my memory is getting reseted aswell as the arc continues

  15. Duhr huhr, DBZ jokes, how original. Some of you should write for Abridged. Oh wait, they’re talented.

Not that I’m defending KyoAni’s scuttling of their only good program, but at least try to insult it with some originality.

  16. I don’t even watch at this point; I just wait for someone to bite them bullet for me and report on the status of the show. You could read one of the novels in the time it would take to watch this waste of production assets start to finish. Truly they have found a way to thrive on the hate of their viewers.

We’ll insult with originality when we are given some original to insult, thankyouverymuch.

  21. At least one good thing about these loops is that most of these “impatient ones” who said they were dropping this last week didn’t come back, hence rather than the indignant rage and incessant flaming of last week, I see most of the “faithful” posters (including myself) here quietly resigned to the fact that this will go on forever, and gladly willing to continue suffer for it, either for Yuki’s sake or they’re pure masochists. XD

I’m not so sure this will end next episode yet, Omni.

Kyo-Ani can be extremely anal when it comes to adapting stuff to fit the “author’s vision”, to the point of driving audiences crazy to illustrate that. So from such a modus operandum, I see two ways Kyo-Ani could end this:

    1. Be the ultimate troll and keep doing this till the real world September.

    2. End this with 8 parts, thus suitably matching the title “Endless EIGHT”.

I find option 2 to be more likely in terms of “literary perfectionism” on these guys’ parts, if that is true, we may only need to endure 3 more episodes of looping hell with Yuki. But how many of us here will continue to remain faithful and not drop this?

Of course, them being the ultimate trolls, they might just proof me pathetically wrong and pick option 1 instead. LOL

  22. This episode seemed to be better animation style, imho, than the last bunch, but I made sure to skip through the parts that bore me to death.

    There’s a difference between faith & gullibility.

  23. Man, Yuki must be getting pissed off at Haruhi for having her go through so much, plus I never thought she had a good relationship with Haruhi. I mean I hardly seen them talk, and if so, its always Haruhi initiating the conversation. Unlike Kyon, Yuki seems to follow him even if it means disobeying or getting Haruhi pissed. Show Spoiler ▼

  24. I was half-watching another episode of Endless Eight. I was half-heartedly cheering for this arc to end. And somehow I got the feeling that Kyon would be hearing from Haruhi soon.

    The phone rings.

    – Kyon-kun, DENWA!

Even better, suddenly switch arcs on the 6th episode and finish the 7th and 8th episode (but with much more changes and realizations from Kyon) on the last week of August and the first week of September, respectively
