Astraea tries lashing out at Eishirou to keep the Synapse’s secrets hidden and soon finds herself tied up. I’m surprised rope can keep a powerful angeloid like her restrained.

Mikako offers to help kill Tomoki, when in reality this is her idea of having fun.

With another festival that sees the return of Judas, I was looking forward to another a repeat of the cork gun survival game seen in episode eight of the first season. Tomoki wasn’t too fond of the idea, given how Ikaros went on an aerial “angel of death” killing spree with her Gatling gun before, so I figured I was in store for something a step up from that. As such, it was a bit of a shame when it turned out they didn’t plan to pursue that route, though the pro-wrestling event that Mikako cast off as American sumo was “interesting” in its own right because of Tomoki’s Mask Dupants alter ego. In addition to our master pervert making his perky nipples a focus again, his panty mask and oversized package approach further distinguished himself among contestants. The female fans in attendance were clearly disgusted, which left me wondering what Mexican wrestlers would be thinking about having their signature masks portrayed in such a derogatory manner. For fans of the actual series, none of that really mattered though. Mikako set up a prize of ten million yen again and the promise of some alone time with the Satsukitane geisha, which was more than enough reason for Tomoki to go all out with the blatant groping in the ring.

Overall, this was a prime example of how this series likes to go off on a completely random tangent for the sake of going off on a completely random tangent. If you’re already on board, the absurdities are undoubtedly the best part, which Astraea gets the full-blown treatment with after joining the cast this season. I still haven’t gotten tired of how stupid she can be (in that lovable kind of way), such as when she blurted out all the secrets of the Synapse and failed miserably trying to cover them up. Lying does take some degree of intelligence after all, which our Delta angeloid is seriously lacking. I gather Mikako doesn’t mind one bit though, seeing as she probably enjoyed manipulating her for her personal enjoyment. The female sumo attire she got Astraea to put on was pretty risqué to say the least, albeit not that appealing in my eyes because of the obvious connotations. In comparison, Mikako’s Heartbreak Kid-like outfit and and Nymph’s more feminine one were much better, as was Sohara’s when she joined the electric cage match to put a stop to Tomoki’s animal-like rampage.

As much as I enjoyed seeing Tomoki die on his feet and get robbed of his prize, the overarching theme with Nymph’s feelings towards the perverted maniac proved to be a nice touch. From her jealousy upon seeing girls fawn over him with the help of her jamming, to wanting another candy apple from Tomoki, the love-struck side of Nymph is always welcome in my books. Interesting enough, Ikaros is showing more emotion than she’s usually capable of in light of Nymph’s advances, with the scene at the end where she hid her face suggesting that she’d like Tomoki to pay more attention to her. For the time being, I’d imagine that Tomoki’s ability to break into the Synapse core via his dreams will take a bit of a backseat, so there should be ample time to work in more quirky character-related developments.

I still prefer the cork gun survival game, but the pro-wrestling event this year wasn’t too shabby.

Now this is what you call motivation.

There’s a reason the idea of mixed wrestling matches never gets out the door.

It’s amazing how Nymph’s jamming can even make a guy with underwear on his face cool.

An Ikaros versus Mikako match would have been interesting given their destructive power.

Thanks to the entrance videos, the official height, weight, and three sizes of Astraea and Nymph are in!

Nymph sure is pushing the “dere” side of her character this season.

This may not break any wrestling rules, but it surely has to break some laws.

As for angeloid weaponry, yeah, that breaks some wrestling rules.

72cm bust, 45cm waist, 68cm hip. What’s in front of Tomoki doesn’t seem indicative of those top-heavy measurements.

I’m starting to find Nymph’s interactions with Tomoki a lot cuter, even when he’s fondling her breasts.

Tomoki isn’t shy about showing off his junk, while Ikaros is back with her watermelon as a guest commentator.

Tomoki uses oil to escape Mikako’s death grip and unleashes a flurry of sticky fingers in return. Hmm, they should have made this an oiled up cage match.

So this is what it means when the “beast within” surfaces.

Saying that looks painful would be an understatement.

But going out like a man warrants some well-deserved praise and respect.

It’s commendable that Tomoki could stand up for another match again, even if it meant getting gunned down by corks and losing the ten million yen to Judas (i.e. Mikako).

Nymph gets all flustered again because she got another candy apple from Tomoki…

…while poor Ikaros doesn’t get any attention from her master.

Nymph is wearing a pretty revealing outfit underneath that censoring.

    1. Agreed…after around 16 episodes of the same one joke and no character progression, I’d like to either see a change in Sohara’s character (at the very least, making her more than ‘the girl who karate-chops Tomoki’), or have her left out of the story.

To me, Sohara seems the same as (for anyone watching DenYuDen) Ferris – nothing’s wrong with her basic character, it’s just that her defining characteristics are one incredibly stale joke and a lack of characterisation.

On a less complain-y note, Nymph and Ikaros are always good. I can never complain about more Angeloid-screentime goodness.

    2. Its no spoiler but she does get worse though she does seem to be aware of her more violent outbursts such as being unable to answer (when she was the cause) when nymph asks what happened to tomoki in the last manga chapter.

Still she is important as it allows tomoki to climb over the obstacles she puts.

      1. She is still under Kagome and tying with Naru…
I rather just have Ikaros get her emotions back and have a love relationship there.
But now, I cant even find anything good about her.
Even the Prez who is very violent has a charm to her while Soharu is just there for violence,I never understand why most animes make the most annoying and violent girl the supposed “main love interest”.

  1. Now that was a different yet hilarious episode! I’m sure Astraea forgot she was strong enough to break out of the ropes Eishirou tied her up in, but her thought processes are too slow to catch up to know that Mikako, upon “rescuing” her, set Astraea up for her own enjoyment. Judas shows up randomly again! Mikako’s 400kg death grip? That’s pushing angeloid territory!
Nymph’s getting a lot of attention lately from Tomoki, and Ikaros is starting to notice it, but Ikaros is low on the ability to convey her emotions. It’s so sad; Tomoki better give her attention soon, ‘cuz a jealous Uranus Queen is bad! Tomoki as Mask Dupants was great, using fondling submissions to win his matches! He “dies” on his feet; that’s a man never giving up! I wonder where Astraea went after her match? The ending was also cool, showing the matches that they didn’t have time for. Anyone notice Sohara was humming the opening theme while doing the laundry?

  2. The episode was a total blast. When Judas stand appeared, I was HELL YEAH but like D, I was surprised it turned out to be a wrestling event (American sumo lol). I didn’t find any part that made me go meh up to now in this season but seeing Ikaros ignored and sad, definitely pulled some of my heart strings. After all, she will always be my the main character.

  3. its hilarious that tomoki is cheered by the guys but is hated by the girls(cant blame them though) and too bad he didnt get the prize, he(not really) deserved it

and we finally know that he is really a chibi and just needs ikaros or nymph’s ‘magic’ to look normal
