“Everyday Life ~It’s Been A While; I Want To See Some Good Parts of Kampfer~”

Despite the “For Love” German subtitle, this two-episode sequel of Kampfer is a direct continuation of the first season. Unfortunately, we were shortchanged on the more relevant first episode (thirteenth overall) due to the earthquake scheduling delays, leaving us with only the fan-service-filled second one as part of the televised broadcast. A bit of a shame since I was looking forward to seeing more of Natsuru and co. at odds with Kaede, which will now have to wait for the May 25th BD/DVD release.

Be that as it may, I’m never opposed to the more lighthearted and nonsensical harem aspect of Kampfer, especially when Shizuku is involved and making Natsuru her plaything, so this came off just like the bonus episode that it is. It was reminiscent of how the first season concluded in a similar manner, except Kaede wasn’t befittingly victimized for deceiving everyone as the innocent antagonist. Given that Shizuku was my favorite character of 2009, it’s no secret that I absolutely love how assertive she is with Natsuru, making sure that he realizes she wears the pants in their relationship. Throw in the fact that she has great dexterity with her feet and the student council president pretty much runs away with being the most alluring candidate vying for our gender bender protagonist’s heart.

I can’t say I think much of how the whole mixer party came about from Natsuru taking up a part-time job to buy a new bra that can contain her enormous breasts, but that’s exactly the setup laid out for the antics that followed. Aside from Inoue Marina-centered cameos of Rio (Rio -RainbowGate-), Matsurika (Maria Holic), and Mina (Getsumento to Heiki Mina) that took up a noticeable portion of screen captures, the footsies that Shizuku made Natsuru orgasm with were undoubtedly the highlight of the entire episode. The only thing missing was Shizuku taking a page out of Riko’s book from kiss x sis and extending an offer to Natsuru to return the favor. Probably a bit too scandalous for TBS, but I would’ve been on board for simply Shizuku’s dirty talk and satisfied reaction (assuming Natsuru could get her excited enough).

As much as I love watching Shizuku, Akane is probably right up there when she’s in her foul-mouthed Kampfer form. It’s always fun hearing Horie Yui flip that bipolar switch and make swear jar owners rich, but it’s even better when Ayane’s pressing up naked bodies with Natsuru and inadvertently feeling it. A bit of her love-struck side came out during it all, which had a very tantalizing appeal to it. I’m well aware that entire scene was just another excuse for fan-service, but I was thoroughly amused by Natsuru freaking out about Akane’s cold hard gun riding up on her. I could definitely watch more of these Natsuru x Akane situations, as they’re right up there with the Shizuku ones in terms of personal enjoyment. What can I say? I like my Kampfer assertive or feisty. Put the three of them together and it’s a party!

  1. is it just me or did the seiyuu change? I was fairly certain they didnt sound like that…

    1. Shizuku is enough for me to buy into anything Kampfer related. But the cameos were an amazing bonus. I just got finished watch Rainbow Gate yesterday. Rio’s appearance was so random! xD Loved it though.

  2. I’m a bit confused, is this supposed to be a DVD-extra episode being placed on web-cast much like the OreImo True Route episodes?

Highlight this episode has got to be Shizuku’s footjob, molesting poor Natsuru till she came… with curry sauce on her face.

Apart from that, this episode was a bit WTF hit and miss for me, compared to past Kampfer episodes.
