「神話の足跡」 (Shinwa no Ashiato)
“Footprints of the Myth”

Like last week’s episode, this one had a lot of action too, but the battles didn’t seem so serious. I’d rather call it “fooling around” than a good fight, but it was an entertaining episode. While Natsu vs. Dan wasn’t very interesting to watch, I found Dan’s romantic conversations with Lucy quite hilarious. I’d like to have a Lucy figure too!

Overall, this episode was quite plain, but it had its moments. I liked Michelle a lot this week – especially her wits. While she might be weak and probably a liability, she is still clever. The way she and Romeo tricked Dan was quite impressive. Stinky fire, eh? I would remove that armor if I were you, Dan…

Coco and Lucy’s relationship is turning out to be a lot like the one they shared in Edolas. I expect all the Earth Land versions to end up like their Edolas counterparts did, except Hughes and Byro. I remember Natsu defeated them both in Edolas, but I assume that their Earth Land versions will fight Erza and Gajeel – who both have reached their destinations with their teams.

I’m very interested in Gajeel’s team; they were the highlight of this episode for me. Too bad they only appeared for a few minutes. I hope they get a lot of screen time when it’s their time to fight. FAIRY TAIL needs more Levy! Oh, and more Lily too – he was so funny today!

But speaking of Levy, I think it’s a shame she ended up on a mountain while Erza’s team is in an old library. When it comes to Erza, it doesn’t matter where she is, there’ll be a good fight anyway. But for Levy, she is at her best when she gets to use her brain. I think the library would suit her better. However, if this setting makes room for some Gajeel and Levy shipping, then I’m happy!

For now, it seems like we won’t be seeing Gajeel’s team in a while because next week’s main focus will be the continuation of Natsu’s battle, and Erza’s team – they’ve got some visitors hidden among those books. Prepare for some “dat ass” shots next week – it looks like Erza might contribute to that meme!

By the way, I’m now absolutely sure that the next season will have fillers too! The remaining episodes aren’t enough for a conclusion of this arc. Four Legion corp members are left, Jackpot is still on the run, we lack all kind of information on Zentopia – definitely another filler season – which is completely okay with me as long as they can keep up the good work they’ve done so far.

Having that said, I’m looking forward to next week!

Moete kitazou!

    1. Yes, it looks like it’s the same library. It took me a while to find the scene: episode 116, around minute 16:29 or so. Ultear explains that she learns about the existence of Zeref in this library, along with meeting Hades here for the first time.

  1. Actually, I’m starting to grow tired of the fillers. It’s like, all of them became dumber and weaker. I mean, usually Natsu beats everyone but here, he beats no one.

Maybe I should skip the rest of the filler arc? I feel like this is becoming the second Daphne arc…
