「チームワーク」 (Chiimuwaaku)
“Teamwork”

Like the excerpt says, the trouble duo’s latest scheme, to use an idol’s spit to garner thousands in yen, was certainly a highlight this episode. Throughout the ploy, I expected it all to backfire at some point, thus their eventual success and apparent deception of the idol fanatic-type slightly surprised me. It wasn’t a surprise that such money went towards paying for the Hasegawa Rescue Plan, but it was still a pleasant sight to see the lab working together, with some contributing differently than others. The bunny suit card was going to have to been played eventually; although art styles have changed since the first episode, the story demanding fanservice certainly hasn’t. It’s a definite bonus to be able to construct Yuuki full-screens again, but a little bit of a shame to have Mutou in this kind of outfit

Aside from the main plot, the antics of the festival definitely had the same qualities that lended last season’s festival its energetic and crazy charm. I too wish that I could beat up on my professors in order to earn tenure, but perhaps not against a robot who can juggle me in the air as if playing a game of Super Smash Brothers. Although the festival isn’t locked up like the spring, self-reliance still manages to pervade the festival, to some extremes that may scare some children into finally eating soy products. Compared to other portrayals of education in anime, Moyashimon’s definitely finds the best balance between extravagance, whilst not derailing too far from what’s feasible for education *cough*BakaTest*cough*.

Despite raising the funds for sending a good amount of people to France (with the rest undoubtedly being sent on the doctor’s expense or their own), the festival arc definitely has not finished yet, leaving on a cliffhanger around the bonfire. With the introduction of Yuuki back into the scene, I’ll take a guess and say that some sort of development involving either Oikawa or Yuuki will happen, whilst transitioning into flying into France for the latter half of the episode. What will eventually happen though is left for us to see next week.

Oh, and Itsuki-sensei definitely is ruling the country through sake. What a boss.

  1. I’ve said it before, but this show is really returning to its roots. The insane school setting is probably one Moyashimon’s biggest boons, and the general zaniness is always fun to watch. And how about that auction? That was the best ever.
