「とあるキャンプの悪霊の家」 (To Aru Kyanpu no Akure no Ie)
“A Certain Camp’s Haunted House”

I was in disbelief after watching just how much the writers downplayed Tamao’s feelings for Mahiro during that silly “eat something with some kind of drug in it and act all crazy” scene. I mean, after toying with us with last week’s preview how could they just completely obliterate any chance she had with Mahiro?!

Putting that thought aside, this week’s episode was a fresh breath of air compared to last week’s weak offering. In lieu of awkward aliens trying to conquer the world for their own silly reasons, I was loving how the focus shifted back to our main cast of characters with everyone getting a little bit of time to show off what makes them unique. From Nyaruko’s strangely sourced meats to Yoichi valiantly fishing no matter what’s thrown at him, there wasn’t much more you could ask for from this episode. But then you toss in everyone (including Hasta) running around trying to rape Mahiro and you have one of the best episodes of the entire season. Because honestly, who wouldn’t want all of those girls chasing after them?

That said, I’m really hoping that next week’s finale (yes I double checked this time) ends up being even better. Because for a show like this, who can’t see a thousand different ways for it to go out on a bang?

  1. Sadly, “better than the previous episode” is a low bar. It’s weird. Usually second seasons seem fairly weaker than the first season. Often all the good jokes, interesting twists and fresh ideas seem to be used up in the first. Here it’s actually been a pretty good season overall, just with episodes getting weaker near the end.

    1. Oddly enough I thought that the season get’s better and better as the episodes were passing. Imo there were too much filler content at the start of the season. I was sad and on the brink of dropping the show but the comedy goodness was restored and I was relieved that one of my favorite shows found it’s funny goodness again.

    2. This show is exactly what it’s suppose to be. It’s not trying to be some plot-filled unholy mess like a few of disasters this season. It’s just a lighthearted wacky riot. Something that’s greatly needed to relieve some of those high-tension shows from the minds of the viewers.

The 1st season did have a more precised plot line but the comedy still over took it every chance it got. While this season hardly had any plot, the comedy is still there in full force – which is the only reason I watch this show. All shows don’t need to have some sort of stressful plot to be entertaining.
