「私を旅館につれてって」 (Watashi wo Ryokan ni Tsuretette (#12.5))
“Take Me To The Ryokan”

Finally a reference that I actually caught that could kind of considered to be obscure. Sort of.

Secrets of the World

That subtle but not so subtle reference to Little Busters felt so good to catch that I had to write a short little thing about it. Thinking about it from a company’s perspective, it makes perfect sense that after enjoying a team activity you’d want to branch out into other things. While it’d probably be tough for them to actually form a proper baseball team, I wouldn’t be against the idea of the Little Busters living on through my favorite married couple and their friends. Too bad the copyright police would probably put a stop to that if they ever tried.

Secrets of the Hot Inn

Maybe it’s because I haven’t went on an outing with my friends in a while but there’s just something endearing about those late night chats you have when you’re on a trip. Be it something dirty or something secretive, those specific moments are the one of a kind and precious enough that in the future you’ll be able to look back and talk about it. Good or bad, that’s the time when you’re the most comfortable and the most open to talk about things.

Foreshadowing and Looking Ahead

While it wasn’t directly addressed, I appreciate the show finally throwing us a bone and remembering that Kaoru is actually pregnant. I mean, at the end of the last season when that pregnancy test decided to turn positive right as the episode came to a close, I’ve been dying to see what course of action our lovebirds would take. Seeing how we’re still not there though, it at least feels like we’re slowly moving toward it. And honestly, I couldn’t ask for more than that in a simple 3 minute anime.

See you next week!

  1. It was quite obvious for some time that Miki is a female, who try to pose as male. They still haven’t confirmed it but so much foreshadowing… Will be a perfect pair for Hajime’s brother -=)

  2. Again, can someone please tell me why this show is covered rather than Nisekoi or some of the other shows that were supposed to be covered but were dropped without notice? (Mikagura)

    1. Passerby said this on Mikagura’s 2nd ep “I also don’t know whether I’d actually want to cover Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku, because I can’t tell if I’ll have much to say about it. I’m still interested in how it’s going to develop, so I’ll definitely keep watching it, but every week? Hmm. Well, I’ll leave it alone for now.”

Plus, when the season schedule came out, no one took it up for weekly coverage. It was only done for just first impressions. And honestly, Mikagura is has been pretty disappointing lately. I myself wouldnt wanna blog it if I was a blogger.

And anyone can blog abt anything given their interest. If Takaii wants to blog this because she/he likes it, then there’s no room for you and your judgement to decide which show is “worth” blogging

      1. Right. I was just making an inquiry that’s all. My personal judgement is that if there is nothing to say about Mikagura then there is absolutely less than nothing to say about this. Don’t get me wrong, its not bad at all, but come on…

      2. A blogger makes their own choices about what to blog. This show happens to be a favorite, so it gets covered despite being a short, slice-of-life, comedy, 4-koma adaptation.

As it happens, I’m ejoying Mikagura and would like if it were covered, but that is the choice of the bloggers in regards to their time and their interest. I am also enjoying this series and I’m glad that it is being covered.

      3. As chioneicedyrken and Wanderer said, each blogger chooses what they want to blog for themselves, and we deal with overlap during the quarterly knife fights. Takkun wanted to blog this, whereas Passerby didn’t want to continue blogging Mikagura and no one wanted to blog Nisekoi. That’s all there is to it. We’re not a monolith; we’re individuals who work together.

Oh, and neither Mikagura, Nisekoi, or anything not marked on the schedule were supposed to be blogged. The most I said was that they’d get intros, and both did.

    2. Everyone above me has covered the topic pretty well.

If I had to add anything, it’d be:

      1. I haven’t watched Nisekoi (I’ve been meaning to though)
      2. I decided to blog the smaller shows.. just because haha.

Sorry we can’t cover all the shows you’d like to see though :/
