「鎮魂歌[レクイエム]は静かに奏でられる その①」 (Requiem wa Shizuka ni Kanaderareru: Sono 1)
“The Requiem Quietly Plays, Part 1”

For this week’s episode, Diavolo’s reveal is followed up with Silver Chariot Requiem, the last ditch effort for Polnareff to get the upper hand on the mafia boss. But as the arrow activates, Silver Chariot’s strengths are amplified to the points of shifting everyone out of their bodies.

It wasn’t as eventful of an episode, but it was absolutely hilarious to see everyone in Team Buccialati switch bodies. It was a huge treat to see how fun the voice actors had with impersonating different characters. The contrasts between Giorno’s VA pretending to be as hyper and rowdy as Narancia and Narancia’s VA pretending to be stoic and intrinsic like Giorno was funny to see. The best moments of the episode were easily whenever Mista and Trish showed up. Their bout with a Freaky Friday situation was the greatest as they have problems contending with their differences. As Mista tries to get adjusted to having tight clothes and breasts like Trish, Trish is appalled and disgusted with having to be in Mista’s body. Many of the cast’s impersonations were fun and humorous, but it was a riot to hear Toriumi Kōsuke mimicking Senbongi Sayaka’s rendition of Trish as she is thoroughly repulsed by the lack of personal hygiene that Mista’s body has. The body and facial gestures Mista had were also great in expressing Trish’s distaste in full display as well as Mista looking horrified in Trish’s body whenever he’s put on the spot or accused of any perversions by Trish in Mista’s body.

Additionally, it is nice to see that Polnareff is still around, albeit in his new form as Coco Jumbo. As a turtle, Polnareff gives us even more insight into his past after he recovered from his injuries against Diavolo. Mainly, this flashback helps to shed light on the power of the Stand arrow. Again, the aspects of this episode that are interesting are the smaller elements that help in the fight such as everyone using the stands connected to their souls or Bruno being the soul trapped in Diavolo. Speaking of Diavolo, it was awesome to see him show up in the opening credits, continuing the JoJo tradition of having the antagonists interfere with the OP. But this episode is understandably more lighthearted fare since the next time around will be far more serious in how they try to reverse the effects of Silver Chariot Requiem.

    1. It became a habit because I remember reading that his last name was inspired by Buccelati and assumed that the “r” in Bucciarati was just the ラ that’s used for “la” or “ra”. I’ve been seeing more people use Bucciarati though so I could definitely switch over if that’s what everyone’s rolling with.
