「浮気」 (Uwaki)
“Cheating”

Normally filler, fan servicey episodes like this get a deserved bad rap, but damn I find it hard to hate too much on Plunderer’s latest escapade. Hina going full touch me feel me? Lynn instigating—and losing—the battle of the hips? And Jail, bless his soul, finding some time to enjoy the antics? Hell we even got Sunohara in on the action, even if only from a distance. Junk food is crap for obvious reasons, but it’s hard feeling too bad when it tastes so good. At least until you look at the calorie count.

Considering this week was more or less filler, there’s not really much to chew upon. Nana got the reconciliation and acknowledgement she deserved, while Licht finally revealed why masks remained his shtick through the ages. We also learned that Hina makes for one hell of a drunk—and has no qualms about making her dissatisfaction felt. Trust me, that’s not a face you want to piss off (*reminisces in tipsy ex-girlfriend*). For all the points Hina gained though Lynn still is my number one, because adorable wholesomeness is always a winner no matter the situation. Extra padding or not, even the boys secretly know it.

The most interesting aspect, however, will be next week, because one: Doan looks ready to make his reappearance alongside Schmerman and the rest of the military; and two: Hina’s mother just (re)entered the picture. No clue what Tsukina Farrow means to Licht right now (the last name is not immediately placeable), but you can bet your grumpy washboard her family is well-known to our albino voyeur. Best stay tuned boys and girls, for looks like more Alcia-relevant answers are on their merry way.

    1. I hope it’s good crazy stuff. Hopefully won’t turn out like Riverdale.

Also, I believe I find this fanservicey episode more tolerable. Worst one for me was and is still the cabin fever scene…

    1. At face value definitely, the name hasn’t popped up so far and the show has been quite tight-lipped with giving the last names for many characters. Doesn’t mean it’s not impossible to guess though; a good number of hints have been dropped so far, the familiarity being one of them.

  1. I’m confused, had to look at episode 1 to understand but I’m even more confused now.
According to Nana, Licht has been gloomy for around 300 years always keeping the mask on, but on episode 1 he’s a super creepy pervert with an excited face(with a mask that somehow can move).
She says he didn’t remove the mask until he met Hina but actually he doesn’t take off his mask, the mask is destroyed in the fight.
    Something doesn’t add up…

    1. Important to note is Licht’s initial mask is not his “real” one which he didn’t wear until episode 9; the question is more why the mask switch and the mask removal which there aren’t any explicit answers for right now. Not too hard guessing Nana had something to do with it though considering her time travel ability and the potential she used it a few times before Hina entered the picture.
