“I Am The Resurrection”

So everyone who Echo and Mu met on their journey had their lives significantly touched and will go the mile to bring Mu back to the good side – rather than banding up to obliterate her. While it’s a pleasant storyline, I can’t help but find it cheesy. Were those few days spent together really that life changing for the people involved? I can’t speak on their behalf, but I guess you could say I have a hard time buying into it. I hate to be a pessimistic but that’s how I see it.

But no matter. Where everyone had been previously antagonistic and divided on a suited course of action, they’ve finally come together on a shared consensus. Defeat Mu and bring her back to her senses. That creates a cohesive driving force to bring the story forwards. To that end, they create a parallel circuitry of mecha that can channel their energy in unison using a special amp created by Kevin – and they actually succeed in destroying Mu’s evil mecha with the combined energy generated. However, she herself remains personally unaffected – resummoning it back with a more infernal appearance while unleashing Earless upon the world. Their united attempt to stop her has clearly failed – and they must scatter to the wind and she smashes back with a ferocious energy blast of her own.

As all hope seems lost, Echo re-appears as our man of the hour – alone on a trusty mecha amid the sea of Earless. And he seems like a very changed person from his experience at the junction. Because he’s the main protagonist, I’m expecting great things from him. Yet the question remains – can he succeed where everyone else has failed? And can Listeners get around to making him a compelling protagonist with just one episode left? I have my doubts, but I’ll let them have one final fair shake before imparting my conclusive judgement.
