「 バイトのお金で何を買う?」 (Baito no Okane de Nani o Kau?)
“What Are You Buying With Your Temp Job Money?”

Following the first major camping trip of the New Year, Nadeshiko’s return to the Outclub sets the tone for Episode 03 of Yuru Camp as she plans ahead for her next trek. But with the other girls mentioning what they want to use their paychecks on, it gives Nadeshiko the idea to try to fund a solo camping trip of her own.

While it wasn’t a camping episode, it was refreshing to be able to check up on how the characters in the Outclub are doing, particularly with what their motivations are with regards to their part-time jobs.

It gives each of the girls some depth to their personalities to have their camping trips partially funded by having to work a job. While Chiaki bought a tarp to try out after their Christmas trip, her sights are set on having a hammock that could help her or Chikuwa relax. Meanwhile, Aoi wants to get a chair with her paycheck. But Nadeshiko’s interest in getting a job comes from her desire to afford a lantern she could use for a solo camping trip.

Although she can no longer burn massive piles of wood as Chiaki did in the one camping location by the hot springs, Nadeshiko wants to stop by a newly renovated campsite on her own that has a number of valuable delicacies nearby such as the beloved deep-fried soft-boiled onsen egg. But with the help of her family, part-time work at a nearby tempura shop was brought to her attention.

This episode’s greatest strength was giving us a better glimpse at Nadeshiko’s family. Her mother and father are very supportive of her hobby with her mom encouraging her to hit the pavement for any work opportunities to come by to fund her hobby.

This second season has been kind to her sister Sakura, who previously had some funny moments such as when she put a chubby Nadeshiko through a boot camp to lose weight. But in this episode, she tries to reach out to her sister by inviting her to a tempura shop that happens to be hiring for a part-time job. Her compassion also inspires Nadeshiko to use part of her paycheck on a heater for Sakura.

It’s not 100% expected to have sisterly love as a part of Yuru Camp’s storyline, but it was a pleasant sight to see that Sakura and Nadeshiko’s sibling relationship is stronger than ever after so many instances when the eldest sister was only present to chaperone Nadeshiko to campsites.

    1. Look at this guy, trying to act like he’s so much smarter than everyone else. If you cared to read the link the other commenter had so kindly supplied you with, you would learn that these hand warmers use something called catalytic combustion, which allows for a hydrocarbon fuel to release energy (in the form of heat) without creating an open flame and the risk that usually creates.

I remember you complaining about Ayano’s voice last week, as well. Ayano’s voice is fine, it’s deliberate to show her easygoing personality. The BDs don’t need to correct that in any way.

        1. Now you’re just putting words in my mouth. Anyways, your making pointed questions in trying to point out supposed “flaws” in Yuru Camp suggest you’re trying too hard. If there are technical things you want to learn more about, instead of suggesting the show is wrong, perhaps read from more sources and speak with more fans watching this show. Pointed questions, such as your last remark, will get you nowhere.
