「回復術士は、血と涙を流す!」 (Kaifuku Jutsushi wa, Chi to Namida o Nagasu!)
“The Healer Sheds Blood and Tears!”

Normally I’d be kicking myself for giving in and watching the v0 (read: absolutely terrible) subs for Kaiyari—gotta have that upper level understanding you know—but given what transpired this week, I think the message was heard loud and clear: at this point you mess with Keyaru and you get healed. In more than one way.

While it was a given revenge would be had on our dead man walking knight commander, I must admit I didn’t see it being in that form of comeuppance. Not that Kaiyari has shied away from the purely male side of the equation of course, but yeah, going full gender bent gangrape is certainly one way of upping the ante. And the best (or worst) part? I cannot tell if that was a full plumbing conversion of the blondie or if Keyaru simply said screw it after reworking the upper half. Oh yeah, you’re not unseeing it now. Whether Keyaru’s increasingly chaotic revenge is righteous or not, there’s some aspects of this weekly bit of fantasy Schadenfreude I’d rather not dwell on too much.

On a more serious note comes where we’re headed next, and lo and behold it’s pretty much right where we came from theme-wise. Although I have to give Kaiyari some props for being somewhat realistic in this latest setup (hostage taking and targeted executions of local friends, family, and neighbours are the infamous medieval methods for routing out major plebian troublemakers), it’s getting to be a little concerning (in a chuckle worthy sort of way) when the first thought to cross my mind is how Keyaru is going to copulate his village out of this mess. We already had the ragefuck threesome as stress relief after all, and given Norn is all but being set up as the perpetrator to this latest mess (have to keep Keyaru’s targets firmly legitimate), I’m fairly confident a bit of canine-themed torture porn is not long out in her day-to-day schedule. For all Kaiyari may be surprisingly keeping its revenge plot alive through imagination and plentiful boing boing, it’s growing a little lacking in terms of realizing that revenge.

Well, at least for the moment. If there’s one thing to bank on, it’s that there’s always something crazier just over the horizon.

  1. The author’s considerably much tamer isekai work, The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat, will get an anime this coming July.

Veteran assassin gets terminated by his employers; his soul gets picked up by an isekai goddess who’ll reincarnate him as an aristocrat/assassin in her world on one condition – in 18 years’ time, kill the hero who’ll defeat the demon king because they’ll go rogue and destroy the world.

  2. The “ragefuck threesome” was kinda dumb.
OTOH, one might say that Healer is so broken that he gets horny from experiencing despair, in this case seeing his childhood friend/mother replacement in that state. Surprisingly enough, she was still alive, so all he has to do is mind wipe her, I guess. Unless that didn’t work?

    1. It wasn’t a despair boner. It was more like a “I want to get distracted and forget about this shit” dealie.

Didn’t she die in his arms? That’s why his healing didn’t work.

    1. Not from the LN, but in the manga he was definitely a “he” down below. I haven’t watched this yet but a lot scenes look different from the manga if I’m remembering right. Looks even more hentai than I remember, which is fine with me since that’s basically the point of the show tbh.
