「英雄達はゾルタンに集う」 (Eiyuu-tachi wa Zorutan ni Tsudou)
“Heroes Gather in Zoltan”

As we reach the end game of the story, things start to get dicey when Ares and Shisandan forge a friendly bond. While Ruti tries her damndest to get out of the whole Hero game, there are malevolent forces that aim to push her back into the hero role so they can lead a life of convenience.

TAKING KINDNESS FOR WEAKNESS

Most of Red’s job in this episode is to let Ruti know that his eyes, ears, and heart are open to Ruti’s concerns. Even after learning that she was wanting to quit and went so far as to break Godwin out of jail to make her drugs, he never held it against her. In fact, he had his own plans to come up with a suppressant that doesn’t offer side effects because he’s been thinking about her since she started her journey.

It shows a lot of kindness on his behalf towards his younger sister, but the same faith he has in Ruti has only started paying off. Danan got the short end of the stick when Shisandan took his form, causing the others to get the rope-around when looking to him for guidance or help. Red might’ve been able to rendezvous with the real Danan, but Rit getting to know the fake Danan would predicate how others reacted when they came across a disguised Shisandan.

DO I DETECT A NOTE OF JEALOUSY?

Unfortunately for Ares, by the time Shisandan came to him for help, he became too far gone to tell the difference. At this point, Ares is far from the methodical know-it-all who banished Gideon from the party and has now reached a new level of crazy. Ares has become so disheveled and paranoid that he gets delighted merely by breaking into Red’s shop and destroying his possessions like Johnny at the end of The Room.

And that’s not even getting into his lack of perceptiveness. On top of allying with a version of Danan who can summon a powerful Drake, he assumed Ruti would just be excited to go back to adventuring with him by pushing Red into a wall and maniacally getting possessive of her.

He’s also quick to ally with anyone who can sell Ares on the idea of winning over Ruti by catering to their demands. By the end of the episode, Bui shows up out of nowhere to propose forming a party and lead Ares to believe that Ruti will want to come back as a hero if he gets the First Hero’s weapon. It looks like their journey through the maze will encapsulate Episode 12, but it’ll be interesting to see how it links with Ruti’s new efforts to quit being a hero.

  1. So we have Hero Administration Authority section, which hints at some stuff. Then we have a nameless blessing inside Ruti !
Are we going toward that nameless blessing being re-written as a very sinister blessing and since her Hero blessing is weakening, the other blessing taking over. Wouldn’t be surprised to see shisandan’s plan is to awaken Ruti as demon lord

    1. We have the discussion between the demons about the drug releasing humans true power if made without the demon hearts and the Hero blessing keeping the that part of the drug from working. So I think the nameless blessing is human’s full power without the controls that come with the other blessings.
