“Keith Disappeared… Part 1”

Just when you think Hamefura would stick with its single episode arcs this season, here comes the triple whammy to prove expectations wrong. Sure, it may not be the most exciting of triple episode affairs or even something that really builds on the big thing this season – i.e. Katarina’s future – but if Geordo can get his time in the sun then gosh darnit so can Keith. It’s all harem all the time here after all, and this little diversion won’t be any different.

For how much time has so far been spent on fleshing out the various members of the baka harem, I actually forgot all about Keith being one of the members left out of the proceedings. Outside of his dubious origins (easy to forget he was adopted into the Claes family) Keith has largely been relegated to Geordo cockblocker for a while now, serving as little more than the comedic interlude to yet another wonderful and jam-packed round of inter-member bickering. Is it an issue? Not at all (personally I get a kick out of Keith’s current role), but this new arc does highlight just how little Keith’s character has really been used to date. Finding out more about him and better placing him with respect to Geordo and Alan would be nice to see, particularly if it helps liven up future Bakarina shenanigans and that quest to decide on a lifepath.

Getting the new and improved Keith though first requires finding the guy, so naturally said duty gets left to Katarina because why not? It gets her doing the usual, lets Geordo attempt to build back up what scatterbrained chaos quickly eliminates, and allows Sora another fine opportunity to show why he’s the best harem boy of the bunch. Well, at least in the running for. Pretty much this whole thing is a chance to see what the Bakarina can get up to with the less developed harem groupings (not often Geordo or Maria feature alone these days for example), which considering Susanna also happens to be involved with one hell of a conniving magical teddy bear ensures plenty of fun will be had before all is said and done.

And rest assured it will be fun, because if there’s one thing the Bakarina is good at in serious situations, it’s completely wrecking whatever plan the enemy thought was going right.

  1. Who is Katarina‘s Mama bull****ing, Keith would never abandon his Katarina, ever…

And about Keith’s dilemma. There is a stigma about being adopted into a prestigious household that you’re never short of a few jealous acquaintances; like the ones that reappeared into Keith’s life. Those small and petty acquaintances should make like a banana and split.
