「今、私にできることを」 (Ima, Watashi ni Dekiru Koto o)
“What I Can Do Now”

Have to love it when a plan comes together. Or in this case, when unspoken truths are screamed to the heavens and overgrown facial hair is put in its place. At this stage it’s a given that Mobseka will find new and interesting ways to keep its variety of isekai entertainment going strong, but I’m still quite amazed (and satisfied) just how well it works in practice. Guess it just goes to show that sometimes all you need is a little effort – and maybe a snippy AI partner for kicks.

With how much Mobseka has focused on the miscommunication-fuelled falling out between Leon, Angelica, and Olivia, having them mend bonds and air out their concerns was a veritable given and the moment for it this week was certainly appropriate. While there’s room to criticize the usual array of convenient circumstances leading to heartfelt comments, I honestly have few complaints about how this was handled: Angelia saw how staying quiet led to Olivia doubting herself, Leon finally saw Olivia’s feelings for what they actually are, and Olivia herself gave voice to that which was eating her up inside. Olivia especially is the MVP here, because admitting to loving Leon was a step beyond what I expected would happen – though perfect in terms of setting up the next great source of tension (read: hilarity) in Mobseka. Can Angelica and Olivia come to terms over who gets claim to Leon or find a way to share the spoils? Truly a question for the ages.

In terms of actual story, however, next week should be yielding few surprises. Outside of some fun saint-related happenings courtesy of Leon acquiring one magical flute and Hertrude setting herself up to fall for the big bad adventurer following war mecha curb stomp, this arc should more or less end off with happy smiles, comedic suffering, and the always enjoyable sight of Leon-sponsored tea party gone wrong. Also commiserating over lack of wives even though they’re already acquired, cannot forget that. In short the usual array of fun and enjoyable Mobseka shenanigans, now replete with the added wellspring of harem hilarity.

And who knows, maybe the surprise reveal of a second season in the works. That would definitely be one way to send this series off.

    1. the Black Knight battle is the conclusion of Volume 2,
the entire first arc of the story is 3 volumes so if there is season 2 then we can expect a super good battle at the end of volume 3 and another interesting character joining the main cast.

  1. That was a pretty good episode! Was really entertaining! Everyone gets a chance to shine! Let´s hope the show goes with a bang and – why not? – an announcement for a frigging second season.

  2. Man, I’m sad that there’s only one episode left but the season is ending on a good spot. I ended up catching up on the official English Mobuseka light novels in the last week. Bookwalker had them on sale, so I was happy to support the LN author. I was pleasantly surprised that the anime stayed true to the source material. Yes, conversations and some details were cut for the sake of the anime, but I haven’t seen such a well adapted LN to anime in quite some time. Most adaptations have been so rushed that sometimes I pretend the anime didn’t exist (e.g. Arifureta and Campione come to mind). Well, here’s hoping to more seasons. There’s plenty of material to adapt and the pacing was done just right in my book.

    1. Fully agreed, this one nailed its pacing and choice of material to adapt. I’m really hoping it does land a second season because after how well this one went I don’t see any sequel falling on its face that easily.
