You know what’s better than the start of a new school year? No school year you say? Wrong, it’s more KnA twists and turns, because nothing says fun like even more confusion and chaos! If cloning wasn’t enough, if simple small group conspiracies didn’t tickle fancy enough, now we’ve got some planet wide shenanigans to help the medicine go down. Oh, and that thing about a killer? Don’t worry, we’ve got some of that too.
The first thing to really note about KnA’s little alternate history spiel is that it’s both confusing and pretty much hogwash—i.e. fabricated. I’m sure a few people likely got confused when things jumped from World War III right to wormholes and space(time) travel, but when delved into it’s relatively easy to figure out. Multiverse theory (my poor baby) and Paulina being from a different Earth than this version’s ice ball is pretty much out of the picture given the talk of extinction level asteroids, while the utter lack of historical knowledge on the part of the kids (and the faint similarity between their version and Paulina’s) hints towards more common threads than initially apparent—and that’s before touching on the exact same ship technology now finally discussed in the open. Without a doubt both kids and Paulina both come from the same timeline, although what history the Astra powers at be are trying to keep hidden, why they want to in the first place, and the seriousness of it to apparently need to reformat the entire calendar system (because the known dates don’t work as Paulina and Zack discussed) is entirely up in the air. There’s one more major secret yet to be revealed, and this one will answer (almost) everything.
Outside of society-wide conspiracies however we also got back to the very first with our supposed killer on the loose, and this one certainly proved surprising. Charce was honestly one of the first (besides Zack) I had pinned for the role, but after a while discarded it because the idea seemed (much like with Ulgar as the baddie) as being a massive red herring. Hilariously turns out this wasn’t the case—with Ulgar even becoming his own red herring in the process—but the reveal of Charce’s plan’s certainly raises more questions than it answers. A fully aware clone to a king who’s willing to off himself in the process? We’ll need some explanation on that one to have it believable, especially after everything Charce has been through (and all the killing chances he had) with everyone else. Personally I suspect the answer will come down to Aries’ backstory (as its MIA status is becoming really noticeable now) and how Charce is involved in it, but we’ll know soon enough now that the missing piece of the puzzle has been discovered.
Batten down the hatches and buckle those seatbelts boys and girls, it’s time to learn the truth of it all.
Random Tidbits
Science-wise it’s a little farfetched that a civilization capable of spaceflight and wormhole generation (!) could not deal with an asteroid before it impacted the planet surface. While true we could theoretically miss a space rock of that size until it’s right on our doorstep (and there’s already been cases with smaller asteroids), considering we only need to knock it off course rather than destroy it I find it hard to believe KnA’s humanity couldn’t manage to do so. Nukes (the quintessential anti-asteroid weapon) may lack their destructive power in vacuum for example, but it only takes one well-placed object to upset another’s momentum, no matter how gargantuan it may be.
WW3 never happen on the Astra Kids. They used it as to cover up, that Astra are the Last Survivors so the “King” has their peoples under control and never want to leave Astra to search for other Earth Survivors Colony’s. So Astra are selfish holding them for themselves to prevent to lose them
Speculation of course
Do not go outside the boarders, because the Earth if flat and you would fall into space. So stay at home
LOL that sounds like Shingeki no Kyojin. 😛
really? I am no fan of this anime. not even Manga..
Although I got the basics right last week (Astra being a planet colonised from a doomed Earth and all the kids fed a bogus history for some reason), the artificial wormholes create more plot holes than they solve. Anyway, a few more episodes left to get everything straightened out.
And yes, the lack of Aries’s backstory is an alarm bell ringing – so much so that I was beginning to wonder if she was actually the enemy until Charce was caught out.
> lack of Aries’s backstory is an alarm bell ringing
that
+ she switching the conversation when it gets to important matters
she surely knows something which she doesn’t want to tell; the only kid on the planet with an interest to read books? the only one with access to books she shouldn’t have read? this being the reason they’r trying to kill her?
> so much so that I was beginning to wonder if she
> was actually the enemy until Charce was caught out
or otherwise that Kanata has figured out she’s not such a simple cookie; I’d been surprised to see them on good terms again after the late-“night” conversation
There’s one more thing it was her that confirmed Kanata’s suspicions. Unless Seira is made up, she’s connected to Charce somehow.
Aries being the killer would’ve been really funny in hindsight (no one suspects the cute and innocent girl), but I’m kind of glad she isn’t because it would be harder to swing than Charce IMO.

okay, so basically, in 2049-2057 the exodus happens, and newly colonised Astra is “reset” as if it was 1963 after WW3
this means Pauline was in hibernation far longer than we expected, over 100 years?
explains the tech difference etc.
Oh and my first impression about Charce was right…
double red-herring, dare I say!
anyway smart move Kanata using Aries as basically portable holorecorder of everything that happened from the start
I presume somebody has used Seira (the original, Aries probably is her clone) as hostage to force Charce into suicide mission…
> I presume somebody has used Seira
> (the original, Aries probably is her clone)
> as hostage to force Charce into suicide mission
Plausible. Though I still find it strange Charce has the guts to kill Aries even if she’s just a clone
But Aries can’t be Seira’s clone because the clones look like they grow at a normal rate and both Aries and Seira seemed to be the same age as Charce. Unless of course Charce is rather older than he’s letting on, and Seira’s accident took place longer ago than it seemed from his backstory.
Problem with the Clone is the Age of her. a Clone begins like all other Human living being, as Embryo
No i think she is the old girlfriend from his younger days, just they somehow succeed to wake her up from her Coma. Perhaps with memories Transplantation. But how was she?
Or she is the first “prototype” of this Mind override. The Mother of her perhaps is happy that she somehow has her “child” back not in Body, just in Mind
So in Short Aries/Seira secret is still “Online”
Seira/Aries perhaps has the Body of the Queen. If this Boy is a Clone of the King, then perhaps she is a Clone of the Queen. But as i said, the Secret around her is still active
Yeah it’s unlikely Aries and Seira are actually clones of each other, but there’s no denying they are related in some capacity. If Aries is a clone only real bet is her being one of one of Seira’s older relatives (mother or aunt being the obvious choices).
…another thing that strains my willful suspension of disbelief is that Paulina never checked the kid’s star navigation. How could she possibly not have done so? And not have seen they’re moving _away_ from Earth not towards it?
She was recovering in a hospital bed for most of the journey. Not really the state of the mind to go around checking every nook and cranny on the ship, especially if you decided that you trust these kids (and they gave her no reason to not trust them – it could be said that as a proper adult she should have been more responsible, but let’s face it: people are not that proper).
Plus it’s unlikely that the frozen present no longer looks like Earth from video scans, nor would it be called Earth in the database.
Plus it’s unlikely that the frozen planet looks like the Earth she knows from video scans, nor would it be called Earth in the database.
> She was recovering in a hospital bed for most of the journey
> Not really the state of the mind
He he, paint me unconvinced. Even if she was half-poisoned by CO in a smoke filled section of a sinking submarine not checking where the ship is floating to – if your life depends on it – is a reckless thing to do..
> Plus it’s unlikely that the frozen planet looks like
> the Earth she knows from video scans, nor would it be
> called Earth in the database.
The stars, mate. The position of the starts. Every seaman worth his salt should be able to gauge very approximate position just from the starry sky..
Plus why wouldn’t the planet be called Earth? The ship is presumably a left-over from large Earth exodus effort from the era when Earth would have been called Earth. It is instead surprising the kids are not alerted by finding an unfamiliar name in the database..
Nobody had the idea until yet to check the Ships Logs. Also if they would then this Anime do not need more then 3 Episodes
I can sort of believe it considering Paulina had no reason to doubt being in cryosleep long enough for humans to have colonized additional worlds (so when the kids say they’re returning home the assumption is Earth), but yeah given the differences in space suits alone should have sparked greater curiosity on her part.
… how many twists were in this episode alone? Ten? Twelve? By this pattern, the finale could have 25!
If they look at the frozen planet through the telescope, they will see Earth as it looked thousands of years ago due to how fast light travels.
You know, now that I think about it, as stated before, I wonder if Charce’s friend Seira was a factor in his agreeing to complete the mission, considering the resemblance of Aries being Seira.
Oh yeah it definitely is, there’s no reason for Aries’ backstory to have been kept deliberately hidden after the earlier flashback if not to give reason for Charce’s actions.

P.s. This is Earth, long long time ago while Land was still moving. You can see Africa, Europa, The Himalaya do not exit because both continents did not collided until now, so also no India and so on
Eurasia? was the period of this Time? So is Astra our Earth millions of Time in Earth History?
So is the Wormhole also a Time Jump?
But then there is still Polina. She did not walk trough the Wormhole, did she?
Admittedly it is suspicious that Astra looks very similar to a young Earth, even Polina remarks on that, but what would that make the frozen planet they started off from? The fact that they found a spacecraft in orbit that was identical to her spacecraft points to it being Earth. Cloning people is one thing, but cloning planets is a whole different ballgame!
Perhaps this Asteroid Impact was the “Trigger” to born the Moon that we now of today. Also our Earth had some Ice Ages in his History. If you look closely the Mass of Land (continents) that are missing to form a Ball, are perhaps out there in Space crumbled to become or Moon. Perhaps even Asteroid that hit our Earth in the past are it’s core and the Land mass with time form around it
How knows.. If i would be an Sci-Fi Author, i would imagine a gigantic Space Ship hit Earth and now it sleeps inside on the Moon
Perhaps Dr. Strange (The Superhero) done it’s Magic here 🙂
Aries is perhaps the fusion of 2 same Person just different Dimension, that live in the same Space Time
(Dimension W little Vibes here)
