Hunter X Hunter 2011 – 121
(Haiboku × to × Menboku)
“Defeat × And × Dignity”
Hunter X Hunter really is the gift that keeps on giving. There’s seemingly no end to the ways it can entertain and astound me.

(Omae o Nebaa Omoidasenai jan yo)
“I’m Never Remembering You, Baby”
The chickens are really coming home to roost now.
(Saigo no Gyuunyuu)
“The Last Milk”
Once again Gin no Saji brings us a beautiful, terrible sadness.
(Nisemono × to × Honmono)
“Fake × And × Real”
There’s just nobody like Togashi Yoshihiro.
(Yuuki no Sora)
“Sky of Courage”
I don’t mean to turn this into a full-on "gender roles in anime" post, but – wow. Just wow.
(Ashita wa Kitto Tumorō jan y)
“There’s Always Tomorrow, Baby”
The welcome news that Space Dandy will indeed be 26 episodes couldn’t have come at a better time, because the series is on a serious roll at the moment.
(Hachiken, Hoeru)
“Hachiken Howls”
Nothing in fiction is quite so heartbreaking as that which is completely believable and realistic.
(Tsuyoi × ka × Yowai × ka)
“Strong × Or × Weak”
I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t as deeply moved or driven mad by tension as I have in varying degrees with pretty much every ep in the last couple of months, but there was still some amazing stuff here (including possibly the all-anime debut of octo-barf).
(Shokubutsu Datte Ikiteru jan yo)
“Plants Are Living Things, Too, Baby”
That was an amazing trip, in many senses of the word.
(Komaba, maundo ni tatsu)
“Komaba Stands on the Mound”
Sports is a great character-builder and all, but then there’s that whole "scarred for life" thing too…
