If anything this episode showed how truly feared Veldora really is, as when Rimuru finally introduced him to the rest of the cast, they all were truly jolted in fear. Overall this episode touched on the more political side of things, rather than trying to expand the lore or world build the story. Because of this Veldora news, Dwargo asks to speak with Rimuru privately, so Dwargo and Elalude head to his office, where they deliver on things.

It seems Rimuru had to repeat himself quite a few times in this episode, getting everyone up to date. We might know the whole story, but the characters don’t, so this episode basically was whatever the reverse of DM Fiat is. Where the story is carefully planned out and there are no shortcuts to anything, even what characters know and don’t know. We as the viewers know the whole story, but the characters don’t, so this was an imperative episode on getting everyone who’s friendly with the Tempest nation on getting them up to date, something that will affect the story as a whole moving forward.

Other than that, the episode was pretty much littered with flashbacks. The negotiations didn’t really lead anywhere (as most political discussions do), Dwargo and Elalude are going to continue to be on friendly terms with Tempest, and are going to continue to help RImuru any which way they can.

There was another important scene at the beginning of the episode, going far away from Tempest and into the Holy Church Territory, the Holy Empire of Lubelius, inside the Inner Sanctum. Laplace (Nakai Kazuya) is exploring the Holy Church, maybe undercover, maybe not so much. He pays a visit to the Inner Sanctum and uncovers that there’s a Vampire! Is this the first time we’re seeing Vampires in Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken? My memory is foggy, but it struck me as a surprise. Now we have vampires! What’s important about this plot point is that the Vampire was residing in Holy church territory, basically, this land is supposed to be sacred, so Vampires, who usually in mythology reside as demons, are just standing in the Inner Sanctum like it’s nothing. Even Laplace remarks it! So I wonder if this whole vampire thing is just a subplot, or is it building towards Rimuru’s next big fight. I wonder what kind of twist they’ll give to this holy vampire situation.

The Vampire in question still used a blood spell and annihilated Laplace, so I wonder how he managed to stay alive, even if his limbs were torn off. We also get introduced to Kaguraza Yuuki (Hanae Natsuki) it slips out of Laplace that Yuuki is actually the grandmaster whatever that means.

This sort of ties with another important point that was discussed during the meeting, turns out reincarnation magic is heavily looked down upon and is considered forbidden magic. More than reincarnation it’s actually summoning magic. The implications that imply for everyone who is summoned from another world are huge, and what that means for Rimuru could also change everything. Yet we can say Rimuru is not really a summon, but an actual reincarnation since he died first in his past world before coming to Tempest. Of course, I’m only speculating. So take everything with a grain of salt. I can’t help but wonder if it’s all just part of Yuuki’s plan since he is referred to as the GrandMaster in this episode. What are his intentions and what is his master plan?

Other than that, the only other scene that caught my attention was when Diablo (Sakurai Takahiro) and Shion fought over who could go and defeat Hinata Sakaguchi (Numakura Manami) who Rimuru describes as a cold-blooded killer. But Fuse describes her as level-headed and rational. So I bet there’s more to Hinata’s story that we’re not seeing.

Other than that this was a pretty political episode, but maybe that’s okay, because it gives a little time and a break to the production house, as these scenes are not extremely complicated. It seems like we’re just getting started though, and this season it’s going to be consummate of plot twists and conspiracy’s galore. Maybe even giving Rimuru a run for his power by the end of it.
