「信頼」 (Shinrai)
“Trust”

Gentlemen, let the fun commence. If there was any doubt about where the latest arc of Railgun was going need look no further than the events this week, as running, fighting, and feline feels all make their presence known. We’re still early days into the mystery link between mind wiping and cloning, but rest assured Railgun has a plan for all.

Given Misaka’s recent (if not entirely unwanted) predicament it was always a question how she’d escape, but Kongo serving as the out? Betcha didn’t see that one coming. Truthfully though it’s quite fitting Kongo should be the one who helps break through the fog considering the girl’s increasing involvement with the biribiri and her relative lack of dedicated screen time. After all, for Kongo might act otherwise, she’s quickly becoming the fifth member of the Misaka clique—and rightfully deserves to solidify that position. Not to mention a selfless willingness to stick it all on the line in the hope of obtaining one potential clue doesn’t hurt things either. It may be disheartening seeing the best wahaha money can buy (or is that a wohoho?) painfully and prematurely removed from the fight, but rest assured, that gut punch won’t be lingering long.

As for the whole reason behind Kongo’s current situation there shouldn’t be too many surprises. As expected for example our MEMBER member (heh) Baba firmly believes he took down the actual Misaka originally while having no idea about Misaki’s targeting of the Sister. Divergent plots with the latter simply being a serendipitous opportunity taken? Perhaps, although the new and deliberate targeting of the Sisters by MEMBER and the whole reason for them sidelining Misaka in the first place suggests there’s more elements to Misaki’s scheme than initially apparent. Someone had to hire MEMBER in the first place after all, and if Misaki’s desire is to limit the damage of her operations (as alluded to a few times), it wouldn’t be too farfetched imagining the girl utilizing underground groups to accelerate her plans. We’re still obviously missing the reason behind all this chaos, but you can bet it won’t be long before some of the details start leaking through.

Considering one underground lackey is about to deservedly meet his maker several times over, I expect the first of them will quickly be forthcoming.

  1. Respect to Kongo here. Never expected to actually say something like that. Though what was more surprising was she said she’s willing to pay for all the damages she cause. *Looks at huge satellite dish*

If Misaki has some connection to MEMBER’s current actions, I can’t help but notice the irony in Baba’s words.

  2. Exciting episode!

I thought the Railgun series were generally better than other offerings, but
this season so far has exceeded those 2 seasons. Part of the reason is the
secondary character development – I can begin to sympathize with those
characters a bit. And the kool thing is that it’s not Misaka that’s going to save
the day for Kongo, it’s her two close friends.

Although the most annoying thing about the Railgun villains seems to be that
they’re not much “wiser” than the kids they encounter. That’s probably my
only critique — but it’s a minor one, but it does make it difficult to take the bad
    guys too seriously…

I especially loved how the timeline was mentioned as being _after_ Kongo
sent Misaka into space to take care of that missile. Since Railgun intertwines
with Index, at least for me not reading the source material, it’s tricky to keep
track of some events in the series.

I really want to these girls open a can of whop-ass next week!

  3. I really want to that MEMBER guy to end up badly beaten, for waht he has done to KONGOU, but also for being full of shit – by his standards he is trash, being manipulated by others…
