FLOW – WORLD END PV (CODE GEASS R2 OP2)

Some of you may recall how I was saying that FLOW should’ve been brought back to perform an opening song for CODE GEASS several months back. In addition, you may recall how I felt that their “WORD OF THE VOICE” song used in PERSONA -trinity soul- may have suited CODE GEASS just as well, as some MAD videos have shown us. Well lo and behold, as I’m sure everyone’s aware of by now, FLOW was brought back for the second opening with this song, “WORLD END”, and ALI PROJECT was similarly brought back for the ending theme, “Waga Routashi Aku no Hana” 「わが﨟たし悪の華」. Given how the series is going now (i.e. with the last 40+ episodes feeling kind of hogwash in light of the recent turn of events), I’m starting to find WORLD END’s lyrics a lot more befitting. The PV also does a good job portraying this too, with a barren desert being the most prominent image throughout. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of this song much when I first heard it back in episode thirteen, but as with most anime songs, it grew on me over time thanks to the inevitable association of it to the series.

nice theme for the song and how they depicted*–(idk this word it just came to my mind)– it. even tho i didnt see anything relating to Code geass in the video, in like a sec after the music started i started seeing the code geass OP 2 in my head lol…

It sounds fine, but nothing in Geass’ OPs can compare to COLORS.

I disagree with Divine. Your music taste must suck because its obvious that “World End” sounds a whole lot better than “Word of the Voice”. Its a lot more energetic and pleasing to the ears and series.

to me although both songs are sung by the same person they kinda sound like there from different people, probably since the pacing and tones are very different in the both… i actually like both song, eh lets leave them to the opening that they were assigned to seems fine to me.

WORLD END is the best OP of all!!!! Duh, it fits the series perfectly most especially the recent episodes. But i’m pretty confused to “everything is bright” lyric part…is it “right”, “fight”, “night” or “fabulous”?

i like this song very much too. and it is bright im pretty sure. it makes sense. “everything is bright” n behold suzaku blew up nunally with a huge bright light.

ya this song definitely grew on me also as the series got further through, especially when you read the lyrics to it, it starts to seem epic in a way o_o, out of all the FLOW songs though, chain is still the best :P in my opinion atleast

I didn’t like this song at first, but it also grew on me in time.

I still like COLORS and Kaidoku Funou better, though.

I liked World End a lot more than Word of the voice because it has this feeling/tone of hope when you listen to it even though it’s titled that. Anyways, I was more a fan of O2 more than World End…but yeah, this grew on me over time.

    And yeah…this IS old news.

    Dimezanime88:
Difference in taste doesn’t mean one person’s is better than another’s, so I’m a bit confused as to why your taste is apparently “superior” to mine. In any case, I liked the chorus of WORD OF THE VOICE right from the get-go, so that pretty much sold it on me.

True this isn’t new (although still current), but I don’t recall this site being purely for the latest stuff only, so as I mentioned in one of my other posts, I was hoping to blog stuff that I’ve wanted to, regardless of whether it’s current or not.

wow its just goes to show that songs may sound cheery in a different language but in reality thier actually quite sad!

COLORS > WORLD END > O2. Enough said.WORLD END is a great song by it’s own way.WORD OF THE VOICE is a great song too.So…

COLORS > WORLD END > WORD OF THE VOICE >O 2.^_^

FLOW is talented and can sing many great anime songs,so I support FLOW all the way.To be honest,I like WORLD END when it first came out.:)

I like Orange Range, their new songs are good, but not too good for me.02 and Shiawase Neiro are kinda disappointing,as Orange Range can do much better than that, since one of their key members have left the band…:(

Sorry, but this is my opinion, but WORLD END is better than other Code Geass songs except COLORS and WORD OF THE VOICE.And don’t flame me.

I didn’t say my taste was superior to yours, just that your’s must suck if you actually believe that “Word of the Voice” would’ve been a better choice for a Code Geass op (or 2nd op).

    Dimezanime88:
Which just goes to show that you think you have a sense of taste but I don’t. To each his own. (If you haven’t clued in yet, it’s the fact that you’re telling someone else that A is better than B, but if they don’t agree with you, then their taste “sucks”.)

    Let me correct Panther.

    >Nothing in Geass’ OPs can match access’s Hitomi no Tsubasa. <- fix’d.
