Rinne no Lagrange 2 – 00

「鴨川メモリア」 (Kamogawa Memoria)
“Kamogawa Memoria”

Since this was a recap episode, I find myself with relatively little to say. I suppose I could summarize season one, but after my recent forray into summarizing with my ridiculously detailed Kyoukaisen retrospective (Part 2 will be out soon!), I find myself with little desire to do that. There is really only one thing you need to know from this recap episode, and it is in the preview pictures below. “Lan, okaeri!“, HNNNG!!

Instead, I thought I would open it up to you all and ask what you expect to see during this second half of Rinne no Lagrange. You see, the reason I love covering original series so much is that they’re the only time when none of us have any clue what will happen next. There are no spoilers to dodge, no manga / light novel readers who start off way ahead, and no arguing about whether this is a good adaptation or not. We’re all in the exact same position, eagerly awaiting each episode even though we have no idea what it will bring. Marvelous.

Still, half the fun of watching an original series is trying to guess what it will happen next. So, let’s do that! What do you guys think we’ll see in this second half of Rinne no Lagrange? This is your chance to officially lay down your bet, and perhaps earn yourself a big fat “I told you so” later on.

As for my own guesses, I think I’ll abstain from this one. Not because I don’t love a good I told you so – there’s little I like more – but because I had a killer day at work earlier, and now my brain isn’t working so well. I’ll jump in on the wild mass guessing next time, so for now, it’s all you. Let’s hear what you’ve got!

tl;dr: @StiltsOutLoud – The first ep of #Lagrange was actually ep00, and a recap. Bah! Next week, next week…

Preview: why is Madoka in a girly-girl dress? That’s not her character.

My bet: Madoka is also “alien” royalty whose ancestors decided they’d had enough of galactic politics and decided to go back to their “roots” on earth.

    • July 2, 2012 at 7:37 pmVermillion

      It’s her uncle’s waitress uniform.

Lagrange’s finally back!! Recap episode… well, better than no Lagrange at all.

    • July 5, 2012 at 10:45 amJohn Hayabusa

Yeah, Lagrange is back! Madoka looks so pretty in that dress.

  • July 2, 2012 at 7:40 pmJif

    Lag-Rin, okaeri!

  • July 2, 2012 at 7:44 pm†Croos†

So sad that, I already seen the pre-air of ep1 with no new OP/ED. I really want to hear them.

  • July 2, 2012 at 7:45 pmSuperSpoiler

Episode 1 has been out for a month. Now it’s going to reair with the new intro…hopefully.

Lily and the Spaceship 2(for real) because I’m still butthurt about the confession trolling of the the Season 1 finale.

  • July 2, 2012 at 8:00 pmLightnDark

Could it be? Stilt’s shortest post ever? With only 15+3 pictures?

My bets on the second half: Muginami returns (yay!), they reunite (duh), a new baddie appears and they defeat it and live together happily ever after.

Bleh who cares give me my MARU and Muginami NAO!

    • July 2, 2012 at 8:37 pmStilts

Yup, I went from an 18,000 word post with 111 pictures to a 300 word post with 15 pictures. POST WHIPLASH!!

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon has so much history and back story to cover O___o I didn’t get all of it. lol With Rinne no Lagrange most of the history is yet to be revealed.

  • July 2, 2012 at 8:07 pmxephx

Going by the PV with Lan and Muginami fighting, my guess is that they’re going to do a Steins Gate and come out with a darker second half.

If so I hope the girls don’t top being awesome.

    • July 2, 2012 at 9:40 pmQwert

There’s always been a darker side brewing beneath the story.

As nice as Lan hsa been the rest of her people’s leadership tend to come off as evil scheming dicks.

    They mad?

  • July 2, 2012 at 8:49 pmWanderer

Predictions? I’ve been afraid since season one that this series was going to go all Madoka Magica on us, and I’m still not sure it won’t. But what I want is for these girls to solve the aeons-long curse of the voces, and all three of them to live happily ever after as yuri lovers close friends.

And if whoever’s doing the writing doesn’t bring the girls back together as friends by the end, and/or even THINKS about killing any (or all) of them, I shall become very upset

    • July 3, 2012 at 5:01 amAnanas

They need to try harder to go Madoka level.

To tell you the truth, I felt somewhat cheated with this episode. it’s like “I waited for 3 months for the second season and all I get was a recap for the first episode?!”
But still seeing Lan at the the end of the preview made my day.
I can’t wait for next week!

  • July 3, 2012 at 4:54 amAnanas

    That was not maru…

  • July 3, 2012 at 6:26 amSeishun Otoko

A good recap of season one and truth to be told, I needed it.
I know I’ve said this before but Madoka’s genki personality is just so infectious, very much like Stilts nii nii ;)
    Maru maru maru maruuu~!

    • July 3, 2012 at 8:05 amStilts

Well, I do say Maru IRL sometimes. No one else quite get it, but I don’t care. Maru~!

  • July 3, 2012 at 6:31 amThe Moondoggie

Finally! More “maru”, even though it’s a recap. Let’s hope the time skip won’t have Madoka past her teens.

I feel like looping the OP of the first season right now….

  • July 3, 2012 at 8:50 amSteelman

Prediction? I fear that this second season will be very underwhelming, at least from a production perspective.

I really liked the first season, but it’s no secret that japanese otakus did not – BD/DVD sales are very bad, and at this point they are basically producing the second season at a loss (split-season shows never increase sales in the 2nd season).

    • July 3, 2012 at 11:04 amAnanas

How bad? Seriously this is one of the few anime who can walk the line of having a superb balance between mecha action, schoolgirls, comedy and intergalactic war… When you have shit like EVOL or AGE…

      • July 3, 2012 at 11:44 amAni_BEE

I think because EVOL srated with a bang and enough meme’s to get people invested in it to take off as it did. Regardless of sales and/or the lack of fanboy’s buying this series I whole heatedly for see a good season coming.

This show is just not popular because it not flashy, but it takes time to get people aware of it.

      • July 3, 2012 at 11:46 amAni_BEE

Anyways I can’t help the sales but you can pimp this show to your friends or become a walking build board (cosplay) from it. lol

  • July 3, 2012 at 9:42 amFelice

    Someone kicking Moid’s ass

  • July 3, 2012 at 11:31 amJared Drake

    Ore wa Gundam da!

  • July 4, 2012 at 11:19 amRockmanshii

I just hope stuff actually happens. I mean, in the big picture of things, a continuation of what started kicking in just at ep 11 and 12 of the first season. The 10 others episodes were entertaining and fun but nothing much happened in the end.
    And more Muginami.

  • July 4, 2012 at 12:16 pmRaindeth

RnL2?? Do want do want do want
