「価値の重さと重さの価値」 (Kachi no Omosa to Omosa no Kachi)
“The Weight of Value, and the Value of Weight”
Holy sh–. We finally made it back to the present and have started talking about Kaoru’s pregnancy! Except it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting which at the same time isn’t necessarily a bad thing since it sort of changed my expectations in a way that made it something I’m looking forward to expecting! (Was I as round-a-about as the episode title?)
Maternity Leave
I can’t even imagine to begin what it feels like trying to claim maternity leave. Imagine, you have a decent paying job that you kind of enjoy and because of a new bundle of joy punching and kicking your insides, you have to take an extended leave of absence to literally push it out of you. Sure, they say your job should be safe and that there’ll be a place for you, but how can you ever really know?
Which is why I felt Kaoru’s concerns about work hit me straight in the chest — how do you deal with the notion you might lose something you’ve worked at for over five years? Luckily, Hajime was in super-husbando mode and managed to pinpoint exactly what was on Kaoru’s mind. Using his ability to speak at the speed of sound while throwing in some descriptive facial expressions to get the point across, his actions really express just how much he cares about his wife. Because even if he’s an otaku at heart, he understands there are things he has to shoulder for both his wife and his to-be newborn child.
Looking Ahead
With only two more episodes left until the end of the season, I’m happily awaiting for the moment we get to see a cute newborn baby appear on screen. Girl or boy, I know there’s no way the show will make the thing look anything less than extremely cute. If I could pick though, I really do hope that Kaoru and Hajime end up with a girl. Besides the hilarious argument I can see Kaoru and Hajime having over whether or not to expose her to otaku related stuff, I just really want to see just how spoiled Hajime might end up being. I don’t know about you but I can totally imagine Hajime being the doting father who’d do anything for his daughter (Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not trying to discredit Kaoru here! I just feel like she’d be the stricter of the two, haha).
See you next week!
Yes, Takaii, you were as round-about as the episode title!
Congratulations~

I’m happy for both Kaoru and Hajime~
They are going to be great parents!

Thank you for the confirmation 🙂
But they’ve got so many pregnancy gags to go through before the baby can be born! 😉
I’m actually hoping for twins (boy and girl) that way we can get all the gags! XD
Also did anyone else notice that Kaoru didn’t smoke once during this episode? I guess having a baby really gave her the motivation she needed. 🙂
I don’t think it’s just Kaoru worrying about her job security, I think part of it might have to do with not wanting to be treated like an invalid or someone that needs help to do anything. A lot of women hate that.
I for one don’t want her to give birth just yet since there are so many sweet moments that an expecting couple can have. I want Kaoru to feel the babies kicking for the first time and have her husband feel her tummy as it happens, sharing a precious moment together. Heh, I’m such a sentimental sucker.
Oh man, Takaii, you and your hilarious descriptions. XD
is this going to end?
I thought we would get an episode for Tanaka and a scene for this http://i.imgur.com/E8rAz0L.png
