「魔王軍戦」 (Maougun-sen)
“Demon Lord Army”
Alright Isekai Maou, I admit, this week was fun. Adaptation issues or not, when this series finds the gas it certainly doesn’t waste it, and the only thing which could make it better is knowing this arc is now over. We may have acquired new girls over the past few weeks, but the bread and butter biscuits returns shortly.
While I think there’s still issues with how Isekai Maou is pacing its material (not to mention the corner cutting animation), this episode was probably the first that returned to proper Diablo form. We knew the guy was going to crush the competition, but crush him over a harem being rubbed in his face? Oh that was beautiful – and only made better by the lovely irony of Diablo not realizing he already possesses a similar harem of even larger size. You heard it here first folks, marriage rings are now an essential part of any true harem. Of course the real cherry on top would’ve been Fanis quietly coming to see Diablo as potential dating material (just for the sake of bashful blushing of the highest order), but eh, cannot get everything the heart desires. At least we know Rose is sticking around to help give Shera and her love of bath time assistance a run for its money.
Outside of the usual though no major surprises were forthcoming. Horn of course is also setting up to be a fixture of the party thanks to damsel in distress characteristics which for me work far too well with the voice Uchimura Fumiko uses for her (it’s such a bubbly tomboy voice, I love it), while Lumachina will retain her presence given her conflict with the church remains unsolved. It’s anyone’s guess just what specifically will happen next (another battle with a church figure? Some other variety of side quest? Oh the possibilities), but at least we know it’ll happen in old stomping grounds among plenty of familiar faces.
After all, the current Diablo harem may be fun to watch, but it’s never complete until the likes of Klem and Alicia return to help liven the proceedings.

The End Card.. You know, this Background of these two is a famous “Spot” for some kind of Games and Photo shots
Nice one… oh you only saw 4 Moons? Well, i was able to look behind it 🙂
Of course, it‘s „the pool“ with the two main girls deliciously drawn by kantoku.
Yeah, I figured out (at least part of it for me) what’s been bothering me about
this season — Diablo’s power is inconsistent. Sometimes he’s “weak” and then
other times he’s OP as heck (like in this episode). Choppy as hell story flow,
but still mostly fun to watch. What make this watchable _this_ season is having
watched the first season. Mentally, I guess, I’m filling in the blanks missing this
season with things from the first season. This would be/is a terrible adaptation
(so far) standing on its own.
with all of that gripping, it was still fun to watch him kick butt. I though he’d go
back and get Krem to stop the fallen…
until the likes of Klem and Alicia…
Diablo’s gonna need a
bigger boatmore rooms at the inn with all of theextra girls he’s accumulated…
Hmm I think you’re right, but not so much over his inconsistent power as much as how the inconsistency is dealt with. If the series played up his social awkwardness more and used it as the primary reason for various slacking off (instead of just insinuating it) I don’t think it would be as big a problem.
I recall the first season playing into Diablo’s socializing issues more so it may just be selective nostalgia on my part, but this season has seriously cut back on showing Diablo’s vulnerable side.
„Normies should all die“.
Yeah, I laughed which means that the humor worked. In other words, two good episodes in a row for me. 🙂
