「願いが叶ってしまった…」 (Negai ga Kanatte Shimatta…)
“My Wish Was Granted…”

Whether you count this week as one-off filler or not, no denying Hamefura still has some imagination left in the tank. Dream sequence shenanigans couched with a dash of maidly care and love? Oh yes I’ll take your entire stock. It may not be the romantic rat race teased in its entirety last time, but I imagine we’ll return to that soon enough.

Considering how the Bakarina harem has been built up to date, the biggest surprise here is probably the nature of some of the dreams on hand. Alan and Nicol embracing their inner furry and going for the cute and charming (mostly)? Yeah I can get behind such things given the personalities at hand. Maria going full Hulk in the pursuit of better baked delights? I guess it fits with the character. Keith and Mary genderbending the hell out of all involved? Quite lost for words – and not just because the laughter is interfering with my thoughts. No really, I’m serious. I had a few ideas in mind once this episode’s premise was revealed so kudos to you Hamefura for completely twisting those expectations. And hey, with all these peculiar fantasies at hand cannot deny the convenience they provide in keeping many of the harem members firmly in Katarina’s outer orbit.

As for the rest of the adventure on hand, pictures certainly speak a thousand words. Besides the satisfying fun of having Rufus return in a permanent role (oh I’m looking forward to how his presence plays out once Katarina’s future becomes the hot topic), there’s the usual Baka-isms courtesy of adorkable curiosity and totally expected wants and desires. Cannot forget Anne though, wasn’t expecting that degree of devotion to filter up through the chaos. In short, Hamefura doing what Hamefura does, only fleshing it out with some new faces and alternative arrangements.

It’s anyone’s guess just what the rest of this season brings, but I dare say there’s a good bit of fun and games left on tap before the curtains finally close.

  1. I was surprised I thought the concept of living another life in a dream would be Katarina and her friends living in modern Japan.

An isekai within an isekai like inception but Anime form.
