Legend:

Now that every show has had a few episodes to make its case, it’s time to tell you what we’ll be blogging this season. This is Random Curiosity’s Fall 2021 blogging schedule.

As per illustrious tradition, this is a tentative overview of our plans for the new season . . . or would be, but with multiple episodes under our belts, we’re pretty confident in our picks. Will some of them fall flat in the home stretch? Probably. This is what we’ll stick with for now, barring any unforeseen changes in the near future.

With fall now in full swing and shows revealing their true colours, I dare say this season looks good on the coverage front. While there’s a few potentially deserving series who wound up on the outside looking in (per the usual), the big ones have been hit once again – particularly Kimetsu no Yaiba which I’m sure we’re all eagerly awaiting the true second season for in December right? Right!

In other news, RandomC has published its second video over at our now official Youtube channel – make sure to give any feedback if you have it and definitely expect more frequent releases as we get a hang of this new medium. Well, new for us!

Before I leave off too I’ll sum it all up with another big thank you to all. Random Curiosity wouldn’t be the same without you reading and commenting, so make sure you stay safe, stay healthy, and enjoy the changing leaves and pumpkin spice lattes while they’re around. Snow for us northern hemisphere dwellers is on the horizon after all, and if we’re lucky some fantastic anime to boot. Remember, never doubt the potential new seasons can bring!

  1. Usually I look forward to the fall season but I can’t say that’s the case this year.

My impression after watching the first two of Shin no Nakama was that it aspired to be a Shichisei no Subaru clone, which is a desperately low ambition. Similarly, it feels like the classic ‘written by a 12-year old for 12-year olds’. It’s kind of mindless though so I’ll watch at least another episode or two to see if it offers something more and whether it’s tolerable or not.

Mieruko-chan got off to a blindingly slow start but episode three got interesting for me. I don’t generally mind slow-starting shows as long as they don’t wallow in flashbacks or self-importance and neither is the case here.

I guess I should give some other shows a try but I’m not really drawn in by the premise of any of them.

  2. Is Heike monogatari missing from the schedule? Though I’m quite sure Princess Usagi is covering it.

Good coverage overall! Though perhaps not as crazy a fall season as we’ve had in previous years, the top of this season (Kimetsu no Yaiba, Mushoku Tensei, 86, Heike monogatari, and Komi-san) more than make up for the imo somewhat lackluster rest.

And yes, I’m probably sleeping on Ousama ranking
