「ファ美肉おじさんと黒の剣士」 (Fabiniku Ojisan to Kuro no Kenshi)
“A Guy Who Reincarnated as a Fantasy Knockout and a Dark Swordsman”
In our latest Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to, Kirito joins the fray in the form of Schwartz, an overzealous chuuni swordsman. But because of his familiarity with Jinguji’s modern outfit, he might prove to either be one of their strongest allies or a miserable pain in the rear.
FINALLY, AN ADAPTATION OF CHAPTER 16.5
Schwartz was a fun addition to the show as a person who aims to get the most out of their isekai adventure by pretending to be a bombastic hero. He leans into some of the funnier chuuni motifs like constantly repeating his introduction or clutching onto his eye as he surveys his surroundings. Isekai protagonist parodies tend to crop up more often lately, but it’s still hilarious that they managed to squeeze in a Dan from Street Fighter style parody of SAO’s Kirito, complete with the black outfit and short jet black hair.
I am also curious about what his life on Earth was like considering how he lets details slip like recognizing Jinguji’s suit or comprehending the duo’s relationship. He seems to have brought quite a bit from his experience in the real world considering how he lept to the conclusion that Jinguji was possibly the adoptive father of Tachibana, and tried his best to discourage them from a May-December relationship. But while many would wonder if his brand from the Goddess of Night was a forgery, I’m wondering what his situation must’ve been back on Earth, or if he has his own salaryman origin story.
DESPERATE MEASURES
Most of the episode revolved around what kind of countermeasures Tachibana can take to try to avoid the misfortune of making every guy attracted to him. The last ep was kinder on him with the town they saved providing Tachibana with the red carpet. For this new town, however, every guy was horned up for him, making Jinguji far more vigilant in either covering his face with a paper bag or finding a hair ornament to block out the attraction spell. It luckily works nicely, but in the process, Tachibana accidentally makes all of the men in town ravenous for him when he tried to charm the shop owner into lowering the price of the hair ornament.
It wasn’t an episode that aimed to push the needle, plot-wise, but there was a greater variety of humor this time around. It was hilarious to see Schwartz stumble from one hairy situation to another because of his overestimation of what people think of his hero shtick. Similarly, it was nice to see the episode confront how Tachibana will manage to carry through his and Jinguji’s adventure without attracting swarms and swarms of aroused men. How this will fare when they face off against a massive suit of armor, however, will be anyone’s best guess.
Great episode, I didn´t laugh so hard with an Isekai anime since Konosuba.
