Legend:

Now that every show (mostly) has had a few episodes to make its case, it’s time to tell you what we’ll be blogging this season. This is Random Curiosity’s Summer 2022 blogging schedule.

As per illustrious tradition, this is a tentative overview of our plans for the new season . . . or would be, but with multiple episodes under our belts, we’re pretty confident in our picks. Will some of them fall flat in the home stretch? Probably. This is what we’ll stick with for now, barring any unforeseen changes in the near future.

Summer is now in full swing, and much like the incessant hot weather this season too is certainly on fire. While coverage isn’t exactly overwhelming, part of that is down to a few heavy hitters (and potential heavy hitters) premiering late, which means expect potentially one or two others to wind up on the schedule. And if they don’t, hey, that’s what end posts are meant for!

In other news expect some, well, big site news in the next couple of weeks. Nothing bad mind you (RC isn’t shutting down for one!), but there’s been some major changes in the background since spring which will herald some significant shakeups in the very near future. For the moment let’s just say things won’t be staying the same for long 😉

Before I leave off too I’ll sum it all up as usual with a huge thank you to all. Random Curiosity keeps chugging on thanks to you guys, so make sure you stay safe, stay healthy, and get ready to kick back to another season of anime. Summer may not be anime’s best, but this one stands a good chance of surprising!

  1. Quite surprising that none of you write about Lycoris Recoil ,considering how unexpectedly popular it become after the first three episodes.

I don’t think there is even a ‘Ep.01 – first impression’ post here.

    1. Lycoris Recoil seems quite good so far, but I guess there’s only so many shows they can cover what with some of the crew out of action.

At least they are covering 6 shows that I’m watching, which is 6 more than last season!

      1. Lycoris Recoil wasn’t on my watch list until I saw it mentioned on Mother’s Basement. I was hooked after the first episode. It reminds me of Lethal Wepon. I hope they can keep it up. The ED is pretty catchy too.

  2. By the way, are the links working as intended? In the season preview, clicking on a title would lead me to the series preview. Clicking on the links above doesn’t do anything.

  3. One more thing: are nine series being covered or eleven? The legend has 11 shows but the chart only has nine. One Guardian Enzo and one Princess Usagi shows are missing from the chart. Thanks.

    1. As Enzo mentions, no mistake, three writers are covering Made in Abyss (and the hyperlink title even displays it). We just have no way of conveniently indicate such a thing colour-wise so mismatched numbers it is lol.

    1. Sorry about dropping Ojisan and RWBY.

For the former, the Netflix acquisition is what makes it hard for me to cover.

For the latter, it was a mistake on my part to not follow broadcast order because dumping all three of the available episodes early in the month made me lose momentum in seeking out episode 4.

But I do have great news that I’ll be taking on Lycoris Recoil for the season.
