“A Breath of Life into Image”
Four weeks in and suffice to say that Unnamed Memory is properly preparing for turbulent waters. Although the exact conflict at work remains tantalizingly hidden and introductions continue being the force de jour, the hints are coming in force and the foreshadowing is making its presence felt. It won’t be long now before witchy things turn into very serious things.
As brought up a few times now the main trepidation at work in Unnamed Memory appears to be the state of Tinasha and this episode certainly didn’t try to deflect from it. Tinasha’s almost singular focus on training Oscar to recognize magic and combat its use points to her seeing him than more than a simple charge – the guy has become a key in a wider picture which Tinasha and Lucrezia make no qualms about ruthlessly teasing every other scene, and one in which love will factor in sooner rather than later (*chuckles in old married couple antics*). While I’m a tad irked about the show literally cameoing a supposed big bad and not even deigning to attempt dropping his name, the continued focus on Tinasha’s age, her freezing of time, and the likely consequences coming from it once the petal hits the metal keep me somewhat satisfied given the potential they offer. Sure, might be hyping up an outcome which could easily crash and burn (especially given this is an adaptation which is rushing), but all the pieces point towards something major ready to completely flip the script.
Part of the potential too stems from what we do now know, especially with the titular witch herself. Besides Tinasha having an alter ego in the form of Aeti – and best be sure a second name means a past you’d rather keep hidden – there’s the matter of Cruscell and the certainty that whatever such motley collection of mages is getting up to is nothing good. It’s pretty much a given for example that the mystery man Tinasha is after is involved with the country, and that the cure to Oscar’s affliction likely rests in figuring out what Cruscell is after. Tack on another mystery character in little blonde maid doing un-maidly things (which in part shows how fast the pacing currently is) and not hard seeing that we’re gearing up for something significant very shortly.
I’ve got no idea what’s coming down the pipeline, but I’m certainly eager in finding out just what the surprise will be.

Technically speaking, Oscar has a few breedable ladies hanging around the castle this episode. The solution to the main problem at the start of the series is right in front of his eyes! Trouble is, one still keeps on refusing, while the other almost killed him on a whim. XD
Regarding the new maid, I really thought she was a spy for Cuscull. But the final scene probably through that theory out the window. Can’t tell on what significance she’ll be.
The lady that you referred to as “Killed him on a whim.” I am assuming you are referring to Lucrezia, the witch. I don’t know; Lucrezia seems more like a free bird with an OnlyFans account. You can see, but no touchy.
The issue here is that Tinasha is only verbally telling Oscar no since she doesn’t want to get married but displays no signs of rejection when Oscar does intimate things to Tinasha. This leaves me to believe Tinasha herself is unsure if she wants to continue to be single. Also, Tinasha isn’t doing anything else that would display her discontent with being married.
