“School Trip Time – 2nd Period”
Surely Koro-sensei must have a master plan behind all of this; the synthesis of education and assassination is almost too perfectly intertwined together. Class 3-E is deep within a rich learning environment, largely without them being conscious of it. At surface, there is research into Kyoto and the various attractions and history involved, as typical of a school trip. Digging deeper though, that information is synthesized into plans requiring an exercise in organization, collaboration, and quick decision making, skills you can’t teach in a classroom alone. In fact, most of Class 3-E’s assassination efforts are just that–a practical exercise of the social skills that are helpful in real life. Koro-sensei has done some real work here. Motivation and synthesis are two of the hardest traits to encourage in students, yet here he is, empowering his students effortlessly.
Time and time again, Koro-sensei is able to impress, all without being a distant perfect figure. For all this talk about being unkillable, Koro-sensei has his limitations, flaws, and human-like quirks that help bring him down to earth as someone to socialize with. At first, there really wasn’t a good explanation for Koro-sensei’s personality, but with this episode, we can start piecing things together. In episode one, our big hint was that Koro-sensei was born here on Earth, ruling out the possibility of being an alien. Today’s episode gave a straightforward hint that Koro-sensei used to be human. Given his intelligence and wide knowledge, there’s a good possibility that Koro-sensei used to be a scientist or professor working in the same lab that conceived his current form. It makes sense, considering his university robes and his familiarity with a classroom environment. Confirmation of these guesses are still miles away, but it’s great that the show has been throwing out these pieces of info for us to humanize Koro-sensei. He’s a person with feelings and desires just like anyone else, but just so happens to be stuck in an octopus body.
The past two episodes were a great break from pure academics, away from the nastiness that is Kunugigaoka. Minus the almost rape and flying bullets, the show did a great job developing more of the characters while also giving Koro-sensei more of the spotlight. It’s a remarkable feat considering how many characters the show has to focus on. Even in light of this, the show is adding two new characters next week, both of whom are to be Koro-sensei’s largest threats yet. Considering the few lines that were said about them, neither student seems to be ‘natural’ in nature, using the same technology and research that was used to produce Koro-sensei. Though Koro-sensei is still going to emerge victorious, it should be interesting to see how Koro-sensei will react to children who aren’t really children to begin with.

It seems to me like Mr. Karasuma doesn’t really like the news he got at the end there. He looked…mutinous. Almost like he wanted to tell his superiors to back off and let the class handle it. For some reason I think he identifies with Koro-sensei and the students more than with the outside pressures, even if he does sincerely want the assassination to succeed. I wonder what his reasons are for feeling that way.

In just 10 minutes, I found myself really coming to like this Red Eye character, even though it’s likely he won’t appear again 🙁

Another episode to prove why Koro-sensei is the best sensei ever, I would kill to be in his class. Heh heh, get it? Kill? *ahem*
The character developments for the students and Koro are really fun to watch, as all are the dynamics of the class. Looking forward to the two special students next episode. Also, it feels kinda obvious nagisa and the green haired girl are kind of a pair, but the show definitely avoids setting any real romantic pairing in this show, at least for now 😛
A bit off-topic, but I’m starting to like stories where the teacher is a big part of the story yet also shows determination and cares for his/her students development..
I only know of Koro-sensei and Onizuka-sensei (from GTO).

Really strong episode, I loved watching the interplay between Koro-sensei, the boys, and the girls. Got a big laugh out of “we’re the ones supposed to be peeping!”

But this time, it has the right feeling. Not anymore this Cartoon one like Ep 9. Sure it looked good on Manga, but in motion it was more Cartoon feeling. Sorry, i am just try to be honestly

what Ep 9 did wrong in my eyes, the focus on killing and this cartoon alike weapons. What the kid say in classroom was important, this Anime lives from the Bond of teacher and students. Even if he cover it under “assassination attempts”

The Person under the white cape is an ex-scientist after an self-injection on himself. He knows so much about Koro sensei, and even have an Anti-Octopus clothing. And i bet this boy is a product of he wisdom from the same factuality where Sensei was “born”. Only the Dark Side of Scientist, where the Gray/White Side saved our Koro-sensei a 2nd Prototype Life-form
But of course, our White Hood one do not have the sources like before the accident. Perhaps it was a result in the Scientist went rampage after injection and out Koro-sensei fought him to Protect the Woman and such…
