「死神の時間 後編」 (Shinigami no Jikan Kouhen)
“Shinigami Time Sequel”
I think this may have been the best episode yet. Actually, I’m just going to say that this was the best episode ever.
Karasuma-sensei
I’ve always wondered just how much power and skill Karasuma-sensei was hiding under that fitted suit of his. Seeing how he was tasked with taking out the biggest threat the earth has ever seen, I guess it’d make sense to assume he’d have the chops to handle most precarious situations. That said, facing the self proclaimed “number one assassin” probably wasn’t on that list. Luckily, Karasuma-sensei came online in the most epic way possible. Leaving me dumbstruck with just how intense he became, every moment after he took off his suit jacket was pure bliss. As for the cherry on top, it was so satisfying watching him land the best falcon punch right on The Shinigami’s disfigured face. Man, I can still feel the shivers running down my back!
So after an amazing performance, who would have thought he’d be so smooth when it came to patching things up with Irina? From the beautiful rose to some well spoken words, it makes you wonder just how many ladies would be chasing after him if he wasn’t such a stickler for his work!
Bitch-sensei
While Karasuma-sensei stole the show for me, it was nice to see Irina snap back to reality after a nice jolt from some falling rubble. Using the puzzle analogy to describe what she lacks, it’s good to see
she’s grown as a person and probably has a few less pieces missing. Which is a great thing since it feels like there’s going to be people even more troublesome than the Shinigami coming soon and it’ll take everything Irina has to stay on top of it.
Looking Ahead
With each passing episode, I can’t help but feel that things are slowly getting darker. While it may just be the themes that each mini-arc plays with, there’s no denying that the end of the world is growing closer with each passing episode. And as that deadline draws closer, who know’s what’ll happen when the people in power start fearing for their existence? Amazingly, it looks like we know what might be coming in the form of this “Last Assassin” operation. A name so vague that it could literally mean anything!
In any case, I’ll catch you guys next week. See ya!
End Card
They actually downgraded Karasuma’s CMOA, the manga made it more epic – and I really wanted to see those dobermans…
They also left out one important sceneShow Spoiler ▼
Damn, Karasuma-sensei topless looks like a character that stepped out of Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure, all he’s missing is his stand xD This was a nice episode, we never really got to see Karasuma go all out until now, and man is he badass. I was expecting the arc to be longer, but this was a good conclusion. I hope they don’t immediately go back to the slice of life arcs again (not that they’re bad, but it just feels awkward to transition back to happy things again).
My only gripe is that Irina is forgiven way too easily. I mean, I know the kids have grown to like her and she has her own reasons for doing what she did, but she still consented to having a class full of middle school children die. I would hope she at least gets reprimanded or so by Koro sensei or someone, but oh well.
Yeah, I agree. I think what I’m taking away from this series is that
once you’re in Koro-sensei’s inner circle, nothing you do or can
happen to you will permanently injure you. I thought her actions
would get her thrown off the “team”, but obviously it hasn’t (it’s not
like she was drugged or something). She did knowingly participate.
Much like Musaigen no Phantom World (but not as acid-bound),
I don’t expect too much drama — just good solid yellow entertainment.
Classroom’s anime and live action movie version will adapt the source manga’s ending. The manga ends in March in a few more issues.
For those curious, next arc is Show Spoiler ▼
And knowing that the 2nd season is planning to end with the manga ending, tons of arcs (even the slightly more major ones) will definitely be chopped off. I think it would have been better making a 1 cour 3rd season rather than having them rush.
Oh yes I can’t for that next episode since anime-only viewers will find out why Nagisa has a girly appearance. I do hope they don’t skip a certain scene whereShow Spoiler ▼

HAIL HYDRA!!!! XDDD
Meh. In manga karasuma is 100 times more badass.
Another good episode. Karasuma’s skills are truly formidable, but that’s kind of to be expected, given his face and mannerisms. He certainly gives off a badass aura. The part I thought was handled well was the assassination of the Shinigami’s father…the assassin’s actions were so smooth, graceful even.
I just realised that the assassin’s hairstyle looks like that of the guy in the op…the small figure facing the shinigami…
Think that Shimazaki Nobunaga did an excellent job portraying the shinigami – the howl when Karasuma kicked him was priceless, and he was able to alternate between deceptively nice and vicious.
the face expressions are very good. the drawers knows they work
This episode made me furious with the amount of humour that was taken out from the manga chapters. On a positive note, I’m glad this arc was condensed though.
Great episode, great arc. I’m glad we got some development for both Karasuma and Irina(especially Irina), and hey, maybe some further development for their relationship as well?
Imagine how swiftly some of anime’s most drawn out fights could have been concluded if more people were willing to aim for the balls.
That episode might be too glossy in my opinion but is no doubt the best AssClass 2 episode to date. The kamisamas heard my pleads! IrinaxKarasuma is my OTP!
