「そして二人は」 (Soshite Futari wa)
“And The Two of Them…”
Episode at a Glance:
Now married, Wil and Allison are living together in a worn down apartment in the country of Ikstanko like they discussed back in Lillane. Having devoted his studies to history since the discovery of the mural, Wil gets invited to join the Secret Intelligence Agency of Sou Beil by Allison’s father, Major Acacia (i.e. Stork), who believes his talent is needed to help prevent arms proliferation which may lead to another war. However, by doing so, Wil would need to throw away his current existence as Wilhelm Schultz and more importantly, his life with Allison.
Stopping by Ikstanko for work, Benedict uses the opportunity to meet up with Wil and Allison, where he explains that Fiona’s busy raising the twins. Wil, who still can’t take very hot foods/drinks, is still undecided about what he wants to do after he graduates from university. After spending the rest of the day with Allison and pondering about what he should do, Wil is reminded about how Ms. Muto once told him to do what needs to be done once he’s found it. All that’s needed then would be the support of those around him.
Confused then, Wil seems to understand what Ms. Muto’s words mean now as he wants to protect Allison and maintain peace in the world, so the next day, he tells Allison that he plans to join the Secret Intelligence Agency of Sou Beil. While saddened at first, Allison realizes that Wil has found the path in life Ms. Muto talked about and supports his decision. Pleased to find out that he has her support, Wil asks Allison what she wanted to talk about, but she decides not to tell him that she’s pregnant as it may change his decision. Later on at the train station, Allison sees Wil off, who is finally able to clearly tell her how much he loves her. Back at home, Allison cries over a photo of her and Wil, but is able to smile at the end.
Some sixteen or so years later, Allison is living in the same apartment with her fifteen year old daughter, Lilliane Acacia Corason Whittington Schultz (リリアーネ・アイカシア・コラソン・ウェッティングトン・シュルツ), who isn’t quite sure where her amazingly long name came from, but does know that Lilliane is the name of a beautiful town that her parents once visited. Lilliane, or Lillia for short, believes that her father died in a train accident just before she was born. After waking up her mother, Lillia lets Travas in, who’s a soldier from Sou Beil and Allison’s current boyfriend. Upon serving Travas some tea, Lillia quickly finds out that he can’t take very hot foods/drinks.

“Lillia & Treize”
Impressions:
Wow time passes quickly in this series. While I’m not quite sure exactly how much time has passed between the Terreur incident or Lilianne and now, everyone is evidently older and it seems like Wil and Allison have been married for some time. Regardless, I felt this episode tugged on the emotional strings a bit as it was touching to see young Wil compare Allison to a fairy, be able to convey that thought to her years later, and then suddenly leave her side in life. The fact that neither of them expressed a lack of time together made me realize that they’ve been married for several years now, but as a viewer, it was only last week that they couldn’t even say how they felt about one another. Because of this, it took me a bit of time to adjust to the new context (i.e. to stop thinking, “but Wil, you finally got together with Allison!”) and to see Wil’s decision to join the Secret Intelligence Agency in a better light.
While I don’t comment on music much in my posts, I’ve grown quite accustomed to the soundtrack in this series, so the vocal track used during the scenes where Wil and Allison spent the day together made everything more bitter sweet, in the sense that it was nice to see them finally together, even though their inevitable separation was just beyond the horizon. It wasn’t quite enough to move me to tears, but it was moving nonetheless.
As for Lillia, it was a bit weird to hear her sound just like Allison, being played by Mizuki Nana and all, but it’s quite clear that we’ve moved on to the “Lilla” portion of “Allison & Lillia”. Episode thirteen also marks the halfway point in this series (i.e. 26 episodes in total), so it makes me wonder how much we’ll see of Allison and Wil from now on. In case it’s not obvious already, Travas is Wil’s new identity in Sou Beil, which may throw people off a bit since they casted Morikawa Toshiyuki to play his older version. (Wil is played by Kumai Motoko, a female seiyuu, so she probably wouldn’t sound old enough.) After seeing what Allison went through last time, I felt kind of bad for Lillia, who still believes that her father’s dead when he’s sitting right in front of her. I guess the redeeming feeling here is that Wil and Allison still get to be together though.
As for the older Allison, she’s played by Kuwashima Houko, who’s probably better known for her roles as Clare in Claymore, Flay Allstar/Natarle Badgiruel in Gundam SEED, Stellar Loussier in Gundam SEED Destiny, and Sakagami Tomoyo in CLANNAD.
For those who are wondering (or those who aren’t that good with names), Lillia’s full name is composed of Lilliane (the town where Allison and Wil finally got their feelings across), Acacia (Allison’s father’s surname in Sou Beil), Corason (Ms. Muto’s surname), and of course, Whittington (Allison’s surname) and Schultz (Wil’s surname).
Next time, Lillia & Treize!

i think… Travas is Will… considering the last part when he did the same action as in the cafe when the drink was too hot for will… O.o
I’ve never read the novels so I didn’t expect Lillia to be Allison’s daughter. I thought it was going to be some sort of different point of view of the same time period type of switch. And wow, Will/Travas looks so much different, yet Allison looks like she hasn’t aged a bit.
no kiss??? i have been waiting for that and now they are married 🙁 i wanted to see all the love part lol 🙂
Wow, that really suprised me. I too expected Lillia to be someone else, just not Wills and Allisons daughter O_o
So the focus will be probably on Lillia from now on. I hope for her, that she’ll find out the truth about Travas.
As I don’t know the novels I wonder where this series is going. If someone knows could you please post it as spoiler? As I’m in exam preperation I won’t watch this series before August anyways.
‘can’t take very hot foods/drinks.’ is the key to identify ‘Wil’ then. Wow! I thought to myself when I read about how much love Wil and Allison have and then at the end Traves was currently Allison’s boyfriends. So I thought that Allison might forgot how much love she have for Wil already, but glad to know that Traves is Wil after all.
holy cow, Travas is Will?????????? that is insane, but heart warming too 😛 (wonder if Alisson ever fins out?)
@iidingoii:
I’m sure Allison is well aware that Trevas is Wil. But the question is how long will Lilia need to figure it out. If she takes after Wil, she will figure it out soon. If she takes after Allison, it will probably take a long time 😀
This ended very well, it’s like a full circle right now, it’s good to see that Allison and Wil/Travas are still together, and I’m sure that whatever mess Lilia will get herself into will mean she’ll find out that that’s really her father, but not till later on close to the end probably.
All in all I’m also glad we get to see Allison and Wil still even in the next story. I’d really hate it if they’d just be written of somehow, but it seems they’re not going to be. Good stuff.
Hehe if Lillia’s full name was quite long, she oughta get a load of Vash the Stampede’s absurdly long alias
old but famous quote from Trigun:

Pss @ Sailor Enlil
I Think Just pronouncing Vash’s name will make me hesitate ^_^ , well if there was a phonebook it wouldnt be hard to find out whats his number XD
Man, that episode was touching for me. 🙂 Was happy to see that Wil and Allison are still able to spend time together. 😀 Sometimes tells me that the second arc won’t be as good as the first one, but still will keep the viewers satisfied. I really look forward to the part where Lillia will found out that Travas is her dad. 😛
Aww, too bad AnimeYoshi is lagging a few episodes. The series deserves more attention!
And oh, I liked the recap. Nice job ^^
I realize that Allison and Will were married several years before he left, but I still strongly disliked that Will left just as Allison found out that she was pregnant although he didn’t know that at the time. I am still looking forward to the second half, hopefully Will redeems himself somehow.
O YEA THATS IT WILS BACK O YEA i was like OMG A BF NO WAY allison wif another guy no way but that was wil so its all good
Just My hunch but I gota feeling that new bf of allison is actually Will because he cant stand the heat of tear and the way he smile as if to say i remember also the way he is polite. I am sure it gotta be im. Like Allison father he changed his hair and figure.
I love this show
