「リリアとトレイズ」 (Riria to Toreizu)
“Lillia & Treize”

Next Episode:
「遭難!」 (Sounan!)
“Disaster!”

Impressions:
New chapter in the series, new opening and ending sequences to commemorate that (although the same songs are used). As we already figured from last time, Lillia is unaware that Travas is her father, Wil Schultz, but this time, they revealed that Treize, played by Yoshino Hiroyuki (Allelujah Haptism in Gundam 00) is the prince of Ikstova. His twin sister, Merielle, played by Saitou Chiwa (Aika S. Granzchesta in ARIA), was also introduced, and seems to have a pushy in-your-face attitude much like Allison did before and Lillia has now. (Fiona is the only girl with a “normal” demeanor in this series it seems!) It was a bit weird hearing Travas refer to Treize as Your Highness at first, because for some reason or another, it didn’t quite occur to me that he’s the son of Benedict and Fiona. Incidently, this means that Treize is aware that Travas is actually Lillia’s father, but swears not to let Lillia find out. Likewise, Treize’s royal heritage is hidden from Lillia, so she just knows him as a childhood friend, who she tends to abuse a bit.

With the story now shifted to the children of the first half of the series, it’s quite amusing to see the tables turned this time, with Lillia not quite aware of Treize’s feelings for her. (I swear it must have come from Wil’s genes.) They also ride a motorcycle with a sidecar just like Allison and Wil used to. Everyone is pushing those two together too (including Jan and Ema from Fiona’s village), but we probably won’t see their efforts succeed until the very last episode if Allison and Wil’s relationship has taught us anything.

Next time, it looks like Lillia and Treize run into some problems in Rachika after renting a plane to fly. Things started off harmlessly with them going on a summer vacation there, but given the pace of this show, I expect things to pick up immediately from here on in.

  1. From the looks she comes after he mom though xD.
Ah nice to see them all grown up. I just wonder what exactly the overall plot of the story is. For now it looks a bit like 2 own stories to me. Sure we see now the children of the protagonists of the first half, but for the overall story I’m missing the connections a bit. Ah well, this show has another few episodes to go, so I guess it’s too early to conclude on things at this time.

They are basically two different stories. First as we saw was Wil and Allisons and now it’s Lilia and Treize. And just like how Wil and co got into a adventure of sorts the same will happen now to Lilia etc, and through that she’ll probably find out that Treize is a prince and that Traves is her dad. And at the end the two families will probably be related through the kids getting married I bet.

It’s just a bit of slice of life though they get into crazy adventures. I bet they’ll stumble upon some new mission from the intelligence agency that Traves is a part on, etc, get mixed up, then the parents show up to save the day thus Lilia finds out the truth in the process.

That’s just my guess at this point, but I expect it to follow that line much like the first part did.

  3. Thanks again, Divine.

Nice to know Wil’s not dead. I would have stopped watching if he really died.

I’m a bit behind with this series (only at ep 8) and it’s about time I catch up.

Hmm, now that you mention it, I vaguely remember that. (Yesterday was a blog-fest to me, so I don’t recall everything precisely.)

    @Wargummi:
It’s because Wil decided to join the Sou Biel secret intelligence agency, and in doing so, he had to throw away his identity as Wilhelm Schultz. While it’s not explicitly stated, it’s probably so that no one can trace his past and potentially use that information to discover who he is, or threaten his family/friends to get top secret information from him. See my post of the previous episode for more details. I had time to write up a full summary there as well.

That’s part of being in the intelligence agency. The same goes for Allisons father who also changed his identity. Think of any spy novel/show/movie and you get the idea. They always use new ones so that the enemy can’t find out anything about them besides what little the agency has made up.

Just think if they actually knew it was Wil and they wanted to get at him through Allison or his daughter, this is why there is a need to not use your real identity.

  7. Mmm, eventhough I know this a good series I didn’t follow it before because I simply do not have time (slow dl speed). Maybe I’ll jump ahead and start from this or previous episode then marathon the rest once I have time.
